Occasionally they run a special that grants limited access to the Lab at a lower cost. Not sure about this last time around, but a year or so ago they ran a special that let you join the Lab forum for $20 (but no access to the modules).

The ability to PM with other growers is worth a one time $25 fee IMHO.
It’s also not constrained by the (legitimate and necessary) rules of the public forum (i.e. link posting).
I personally paid the full price for the Lab (and actually posted my reasons why back when I did it). I’m glad I did. It was a great investment.

I am in the same boat @Bogleg . I found the modules to be an excellent addition to The Grow Bible. I am glad to be a member on both sides for different reasons. The modest one time fee is well worth the price of admission.
The two forums have very different cultures. For me, one is not better than the other, they just serve a slightly different purpose.
