So i ive managed to keep temps at 80 and humidity at 50. Now im in 1st week of flower and dropped to 70/40. I notice that not much light gets to the soil and they are cool and damp longer. What should soil temps be?
I’ve read that you want to try to keep soil temps in the 60s at least. Preferably the high side.
During flower lower temps are better to stimulate terp production and to help signal to the plant that “Winter is Coming”. LOL!
Ethos - one of my favorite seed breeders - recommends keeping soil temps at around 68 for the best root/rhizome growth.
A good soil temp to shoot for during veg is it’s 70°F (+/-2°). And in flower (due to cooler fall temps) 65°F (+/-2°).
If you reach temps above 78°F, aeration of soil is depleted and micro bacteria (bad ones) tend to take over.
If you reach temps below 58°F, stunted or slowed growth and microbiology slows production of sugars and starches used in your plants production (due to hibernation tactics).
