What about humidity?

Ok Forum Friends. You guys have been so helpful to me throughout this, my first, grow, and I want to say thanks to everyone for tour advice and input.
That said, I have, hopefully, my last question…
So I’m in the 2nd week of pre-flower, I can’t believe that’s really a stage, and my RH was way high so I got a Dehumidifier off my boy and the sensor is bad. So it is either on or off with no in between. I have another, but I keep my stock in the basement and really need it down there so this is what I have to use. Anyway, my question is-can the RH be too low? It gets awfully hit in there too. One day I went to check the RH and it was 98° in there. But the RH was down to like 38%. I veen opening the flaps during their lighted hours and also using a window unit air conditioner in there and at night I am leaving the bottoms of the flaps open so they can feel like it’s much cooler at night like it’s supposed to be if the seasons were changing. So, humidity can be that low or no? Ok to open the flaps and use the AC or no? Thanks.

Inkbird has a controller that can act as a stand-in for a broken sensor. I use one for growing mushrooms and it has always been reliable. I’ve used it for a few years at this point.

Ihy. Thanks for that i fo. I will see if he wants to get one in lieu if a new machine for next time.

Do you have an exhaust fan in your tent?
LED or HPS lighting?
Humidifier in tent??
Intake fan or none in tent?
Fan for air circulation in tent?

Cheers :beers:

Before investing in the Inkbird, I’d make sure the dehumidifier would work with it.

Some units don’t restart automatically after a power outage, and need to be manually turned back on. I’d just unplug it for a few seconds and plug it back in to test it and see if it starts up again on its own. If it does, you’re good to go.

@IslandGrown76 All of the above, except the humidifier is out for now. LED 3000W. Exhaust into vent into Charcoal Filter. 2 oscillating fans. Dehumidifier. Heater for winter. And temporarily an ac unit blowing toward one of the fans to blow cooler air in there.

@Bubbala it’s just bad, but still does work, just won’t shut down when the RH is down. Idk if the RH can be TOO low. If so then I will take that one downstairs to my office and bring that one back up here for the tent.

Hey @IslandGrown76 , here is my set up for this time. Need to make some changes for #2 but I have the plans already in my head. My exhaust is at top right corner and the dehumidifier is also in there now.

Do you have another port open bringing in fresh air via intake fan or passive air intake?

@IslandGrown76 no, I guess not. I have the two oscillating fans, and since I had to put the Dehumidifier in there I had to take one out. I have it now setting by the mesh opening and blowing into the tent via that. I also, most of the time, have either the the top or the bottom of each side unzipped. Except like 2 or 3 days after I water, because during those days I worry about mold and so keep the exhaust on and the 2 fans blowing toward the bottom of my bags. Idr why I started doing this, but there is a reason and closing it up after watering did stop whatever was happening so I’ve continued that. Lol! My brain…

@IslandGrown76 Oh! Also this evening when I watered, I cut my boards that I set them up on into thirds so I can spread them apart some. Now when I water it will be a big mess with runoff because they are no longer all setting inside my giant pan, but I feel like they need to be apart.
