Wetting agents, are they necessary?

I recently swtiched to ProMix HP from a super soil due to my fertilizing practices. As i was reading the information contained on the packaging for the ProMix HP it mentioned that i would need a wetting agent after so long. I’ve never used wetting agents before. So i am asking the community for suggestions. I use Jacks 321 and Silica but will i need a wetting agent for the ProMix?

How will i know if it is nessassary? Are you meaning that when i flush the medium out at the end of the plants growth stage before harvest to rid the medium of any accumulated salts and nutrients to improve flavor i might need a wetting agent? How will i know if it is needed?

All wetting agents do is make the water more efficient at flushing out salts. It is only necessary to assist flushing if it becomes necessary due to a salt buildup. The most common indication of a salt buildup is an inability to control runoff pH.

I see, its just for any time nessassary that you might need to flush the medium. I thought you were referring to at the end of its cycle before harvesting to flush out every for better flavor. I do it both ways and never really see a big difference witj Jacks but i am sure with heavier salt based brands it would probably need it. Not sure through. But thank you @MidwestGuy i always trust your opinion on this stuff.
