Wet Trimming or Dry Trimming

We live in Colorado Springs but climate control and growing in a basement makes for a very consistent environment we can take advantage of.

We typically wet trim by hand the pretty tops and use a bowl trimmer for the rest. The trim is dried and run through QWET for edibles.

Which for me will be tomorrow haha!

I’ll snip off fans that have long stems wet but dry trimming is the only way to do any decent size yeild.
If all you justnhave a little bit then wet trimming may not be so bad but i see no “benefit” really :man_shrugging:

If you have a lot to go through then wet trimming is a nightmare! To sticking, messy, and takes way to long.

Dry trimming is way faster.

I trimm mine useing these items, i can go through an entire pound in about 15-30 mins.

“Oven bag” method :sweat_smile:
Cut dry un-trimmed bud off stems, put in oven bag, blow it up like a balloon with bud inside, and shake like hell, then dump in fryer basket and sift out the trimm.
All the dry bits break up and your left with beautifully perfectly trimmed bud :grin:

That’s from about 18oz of dry bud and i spent maybe 30mins from start to finished in grove bags cureing :sweat_smile:

Dry trimming drops off lots of tricombs, one down side. Good to catch it all though.

@Myfriendis410 I gotta clear my freezer… Thinking I should get some dry ice and do a wash… But I don’t own a vaccume chamber… Hmm I just know the yeild through water hash will be less.

I don’t have a supplementary vacuum pump: I do my QWET through coffee filters alone without a Buchner funnel and pump. No issues at all.

And how do you let it evaporate? And in what type of container?
I thought you used your source

Once I have a tincture filtered it goes into the Source for recovery.

Yeah I don’t have a source nor do I have a vaccume chamber so Idk…
Wish I could trade all my rosin gear for a source but no one around here would buy my home built rig unless it was for some lowball price.

Update:

Just harvested 2 days ago. Northern Lights.

I’ve made it this far, but I’m wondering. Does this look like mold? It’s on the leaves and it has sort of a slight purple ish gray hue. The buds have only been drying for 2 days. I don’t see any white fuzzies or but rot. Maybe I’m just a lil anxious lol

looks like nice frosty trichome coverage to me. Could you perhaps get a close up clearer picture?

It’s the smaller fan leaves. They have a slight grayish hue. Unless I’m seeing something that’s not there lol :joy:

Closer pic will be better but I don’t see mold from this distance.

A usb/Bluetooth microscope for tricombs comes in handy for this type of stuff.
