I am not sure what to make of the fact that I popped for seeds inside wet moist and paper towels and then I planted all four on the same day in 5 gallon pots I have a natural soil that I’m utilizing but the seed went into a solo cup full of light warrior seedling soil and they all had a decent tail when they went into soil one popped overnight the second popped the next day overnight but the last two have not emerged from the soil yet and I’m a little confused as to why they have not as they were planted at the same depth and the same conditions and they all had as I said a decent tail on them. It’s going on day five above ground for the two that popped . And the others (2) are still not surfacing.different clone tent but everything was identical with the exception of the lights which is a non factor as they have yet to emerge.
They will all be fine to week 3 at least in there but than get the grow and what’s in the grow will go on the deck
.
I’ve got 3 16” fans beating the shit out of the grow room now trying to build the stems up a bit. And in about a week they’re going to go outside for sun initially 3 hrs. And work up an hour a day until 12 hrs than they stay out. By then they’ll have the Trich’s to fend off any pests.
So back on topic …,is there anything I can do except wring my hands to motivate these other two lazy bastards.
Is five days a long time?
They are sour diesel autos from Dutch passions seeds.
some take longer than others, im inpatient and ill move alittle soil and peek to see whats up and see if anything has changed, like growth or anything. usually they pop up
I did what you say you will on occasion do and removed just the scantest bit of soil and just 1/4” or less there they were struggling to get through that last bit.
When I touched it with a plant tag it was chunking off in pieces and had effectively caked and they couldn’t get through. Hopefully they’ll be ok and not get all wonky on me.
But ty for your timely reply.
Just my two cents but I’ve given up on popping seeds before I plant them. I think they get confused sometimes and end up growing down, in circles or loop de loops. I’ve been popping seeds in the little jiffy peat pods recently and have had 100% success so far. Just keep em damp and as soon as the tap root shows at the bottom I transfer them to a solo cup.
Either they have been pushed down into the soil to deep or they will take abit longer to pop up if you want to u can carefully empty the cup and find ur seedling and carefully plant it closer to the top
Hello brother Dave.
The tents are “clone tents” in name only.
The gorilla clone tent is 32” x 24”x24”.
The exhaust fan on top is a pretty standard computer case type fan and I have one in the first tent. But a second is nearly impossible to get and I was a bit concerned about simply acquiring a computer case fan because of the presence of elevated humidity levels and the specs so I’ve got an internet search to do.
Within the “ clone tents” are 4 Dutch Passion seedlings and they are in a solo cup sized deposits of light warrior and that is inside the balance of a 5 gallon pot with:
LC’s Soiless Mix #2:
6 parts Pro Mix BX or HP / Sunshine Mix (any flavor from #1 up)
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings
Powdered (NOT PELLETIZED) dolomite lime 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime.
AND THAN:
Dry Ferts:
1 tablespoon blood meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
2 tablespoons bone meal per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
1-tablespoon kelp meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix or Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract as directed
1 tablespoon per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of Jersey Greensand to supplement the K (potassium) in the Kelp Meal and seaweed extract.
This is something I found elsewhere and I wasn’t sure if I would get any flack for links soooo.
But that’s what’s going on in the clone tents. Soils a little hot but I’ve been rewetting sparingly the custom mix with liquid karma @ 1 tbl./ gallon of h2O. My intent is to use boogie brew weekly and supplement during flower if needed.
Have you or anyone else experience with this type of organic growing indoors.
NO, experience with organic.
FFOF and additives.
Still recovering from second PH crash during first grow.
PH pens are junk, expecpt the Apera 20.
Mixing fertilerer from MIRAGROW.
PH down Pink (flower bloom support blend).
PH UP GREEN MIRACID
KELP, Silica, and molassyes utilized.
Still recovering from second PH crash, before utilizing these.
Reasonably well after 4 surgeries so far, 2022.
2022 WWclone got the seed deed from the hermis, previously utilized for seed collection exercise
NEVER AGAIN. I hate cleaning for seeds.
Liberty on last day of Port Call, not good. First day until last day, most fun.
Seed recover keeps me busy daily,
2022 seed crop germinated 50% and 3 males of 6, so far.
SEED COUNT 100, GOAL, should make it.
Last soil over run test 5.5, still.
Dolomite lime pellets added to all.
Waterings 7.0/1000 for lowering remenants (not sacrificed for tasting or space.
Clones and seedlings getting same treatment.
Newest bottle/water clones getting 5.5 clean water
Temps maxed and life goes on.
Outdoors plants , interesting and alive.
Needing a good shake press for all the leaf that not prime.
About to wear out the second hand press.
First was cheap aluminum.
Stainless steel replacement, OK, but too short for leverage.
Need 5-6 inch length and prefer smallest diameter possible.
AMAZON Shopping come payday, as usual.
Curing technique developed may prove successful as the best harvested is hanging.
Keeping the faith and living the dream.
NOTE my 20 inch Clone from my outdoor Super Silver Haze Female (from ILGM seed, 3/24/2022)
got her roots put into soil yesterday. top trim for another clone and reducing leaves.
Clearly, she is not happy with me today. Neith is the wife, but nothing new, there.
Hoping for the best and both will get over the funk.
Haha I know that state. I live under one of the 89s:-) Hot for us washingtonians LOL. I take clones all the time. I cut the tips of the leaves off it helps promote root growth. She looks good. Have fun and happy growing
Cattle ranchers, “NOTCH” ears on cattle, to mark.
I do, as to mark new growth which has no leaf tip cuts.
Didn’t know about stim root growth, just figured leaving some leaf for solar but not too much for too much transpiration.
Well 2 (2-22 and 2-24)have effectively giving up having been trapped beneath 3/16 of an inch worth of caked seedling soil for 5 days as the siblings shot out and were up and running .
They were all prepared identically to their surviving siblings 2-21 and 2-23.
There was no watering as the soils were pre soaked 3 -5 days previous to placing the seed cracked and sprouting.
Yet those two caked.
And kept them from emerging.
The only difference was the light.
Other than that temps and humidity were within 2-4 % of eachother. ( no they are not in the same space.)
And the full spectrum white ge wetfii( whatever the Fisk it is) is running 24 hrs to make the same dli my wee little kind x40 veg does in 18.5 hrs.
Same PAR.
