So if a breeder for instance has some GDP seeds that said they could potentially yeild 12-16oz and then they had some OG KUSH seeds they say could potentially yeild 19-22oz both in a 3x3 space.
If you put each of those strain in a separate 2x2 under a screen would the OG yeild more than the GDP? I know there are 1000 variables, im not talking about phenotypes and all lol. Im just trying wrap my head around the math . The OG KUSH can only get so big in a 2x2. Same for the GDP. Since its a smaller space, could you potentially get the same yeild from each strain or would the OG still be bigger, both plants would just be smaller? Im sorry if that doesn’t make any sense man lol. Ive typed it 3 times and thats the best ive got so far .
I’ve had pretty consistent results from Girl Scout Cookies Extreme (GSCE). In fact most of the GSCE has been more than expected but with your tent it might out grow the space.
I would imagine in a small space under optimum conditions both strains will fill the space to capacity and yeild pretty much the same amount. The seed breeders create these strains under consistent conditions to eliminate unknowns as much as possible. There’s so many ways to grow and nutrients and soils to use. You really don’t know what’s gonna happen until you grow them out. Unless you completely replicate the exact processes the seed breeders used. Some strains are gonna be smaller no matter what, but if you’re comparing differences of a few oz’s between strains its not gonna make any provable difference.
@Paliku@plumbdand thank you both!! Thats kind of what i was thinking but i really wanted to hear it from someone else. Ive seen that girl scout cookies extreme since i was growing outside! Always wanted to try one. Need to get a few for the seed box!
@dbrn32
Hey got a question for you. Hope you can help or explain. You know I’m using that Photone app I believe but here’s the problem. I have a 200respc @12” on 12 hours I get a DLI around 42-45. Ok
Now on the patriot same distance 12” I get a DLI around 53-55. Why is the patriot putting out more light then the 200rspec ? The 200 was a refurbished lamp in the box it had a what looks like to me is a component for a dimmer switch. I’m starting to think that’s why it was a refurbished lamp but it’s still not right.
What’s your opinion pleaser thanks.
@dbrn32
I plan on calling them first thing Monday but I figured I would ask you first and Im hopefull you can steer me in the right direction before I do thanks
Ive got the screen set about 10"-12" above the pot. I starting tucking as soon as i could. Lots and lots of zipties . I added some Dynomyco to the final pot at transplant but other than that she aint had nothing but jacks and spring water lol. And call me crazy but this is my 3rd run in that tent and my second time using spring water instead of tap water and something about that water makes a difference!! I read into it a little but it gets real whoo whoo real quick .
First of all, taking a single point reading will not allow you to accurately calculate the dli of your space. The app converts your reading via use of a programmed muktiplier but this is not what DLI is, so it’s best to just completely disregard what’s is displayed gor this and use your single point readings as a reference to the light intensity in the specific spot you tested.
I don’t own either of these fixtures to say for sure, but there are some potential explanations. The most common would be something different with driver settings or dimmer application. This could also be due to one light not exactly being level or it’s position in relationship to reflective surroundings. Another possibility is differences in light spectrum in comparison to the reference spectrum. The spectrum is different on both lights, so maybe one is more or less identifiable by the sensor causing readings to be skewed.
I suspect it’s either the difference in spectrums between the 2 lights or the refurb may have a driver that’s not providing full efficiency for the board
Thanks I know taking just a single reading isn’t the correct way , but I figured the 200 would certainly have a higher number , I moved the phone with the app around until I found the highest number on both lamps and that’s what I got.
Would taking the reading in two different size tents make a difference due to the reflection off the walls ???
One lamp is in a 2x2 and the other is in a 3x3 but I’m only 12 inches below the lamp pretty much center when finding the highest reading. ???
I’m not looking forward to calling HLG Up Monday and asking them if there is a possibility that something is wrong with the lamp since I’m really not qualified.
I suspect the the same , it had that extra component what looked to me as a dimmer switch, I’m thinking someone before me notice the same thing and sent it back and the tech at HLG thought it was a bad dimmer switch put a new one on and boxed it back up for sale and I came along and bought it. It is a small looking driver on the lamp. Not like a hlg120h 48a. It’s even smaller then the driver on the Patriot. I don’t know. Waiting on @dbrn32 to see what he thinks about them being in two different size tents. I don’t know what to say to HLG
I’m going to have to get back to you on that I’m sorry, lights are out for another 4 hours. As soon as I can give you the info I will thanks. I appreciate it.
