Hi all, this is my first grow, seeds I’m using are from the old bloke next door.
Felt like everything was going well and I had a female, I just pinched what I thought was a swollen calyx and a seed popped out, I cut off a developing cola, full of seeds.
Did I not sex the plant correctly?
Did it go Hermi?
What am I missing here?
A male got through. Your neighbor let 1 live. They threw some nanners that got overlooked “just happened to me with bag seed, 3 plants have beans”, many variables. If the friend gave you unknown bag seed the nanners happening is common. Stress early flower etc. Finish them. Next run use fems that are proven stable. The terpenes will be strong with the beans. Old school it and break out the credit card to sift. Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for the confirmation, rookie mistake, just take it as a lesson.
At week 5 of flower, will finish it off like you said and collect seeds.
Just remember that those seeds will not be stable and require constant vigilence. The smoke will be good from these growing now. Run them ALL the way.
Haven’t experienced bag seeds or nanners yet. Haven’t seen since the 70’s. I’ve purchased feminized seeds and luckily haven’t stressed any plants yet to the point of hermie. Surprised though with my grow skills lacking. Thanks for sharing would like to see when your flowers are harvested. Do you have to take any special cleaning processes inside the tent before starting next grow?
