Ventilation tips and advice

Im currently using a 4x8x6 tent , im wondering if i can use 2 4 inch exhaust fans and on 4 inch ac infinity intake. Reason being is im already on a budget but recently i started having some humidity issues so i got a bigger dehumidifier. It works great but it really increases the heat in tent it can go well above 85 if not watched. So i was thinking running another exhaust fan on same side would help with that. As i have my house ac vent piped into intake fan. Bloing cold air in. That was working great until i put dehumidifier in tent. And unfortunately it doesn’t have a timer setting

I would suggest a 8 inch exhaust for that size tent…I have a 4x4 and 6 inch just didn’t pull enough air thru my setup to keep it cool…

You need a more capable exhaust. A 4x8 is a big tent.

In general, increased airflow = less heat humidity.

85F isn’t all that bad. It’s where my tent runs in the Summer.

Is it possible to put the dehumidifier in the lung room instead of the tent and agree with @MidwestGuy mid 80s not a big deal it’s where my tents run most of the time

I also sit in mid 80s all summer with zero issues. If humidity sitting 40-60% you are golden even in flower with airflow. I personally would run the dehumidifier in lung room not tent. Just me.

Im guessing the room the tent is in would be considered the lung room right lol . So put dehumidifier out side of tent and let intake pull in the air from room with dehumidifier running outside of tent.? When i got home today temps as followed. 70 degrees and 60 rh. Lights ar off right now

Correct the lung room is the room the tent or tents are in it’s better to try to control the temp and humidity in the lung room than putting things that produce heat like Humidifier’s and A/C units in the tent

Current readings. Humidity is slowly going down. Just put dehumidifier in lung room instead of tent. Should i have my home ac vent for the room pipe into tent or same as dehumidifier cool lung room insted of tent.

Go big or go home. That big tent needs 220 CFM minimum, my guess.
Exhaust and filter, or the neighbors will smell.

I have it exhausting through seeling in attic with carbon filter. Not worried about smell. Im currently running a 195 cfm exhaust and a 205 intake, with ac vent from room piped into tent for cooling.

I hope this is the right forum to ask this question. I have an HYPHOTONFLUX HPF4000 480W LED Grow Light and want to hook up a controller. Has anyone tried connecting this light to either the Vivosun or the AC Infinity controller?

Check this out, as single fan may not work for you be if you use 2 or 3 of the openings it should be enough for good air exchange.

I only have a few weeks left til harvest. Im going to upgrade to a 8inch exahust with 2 4 inch intake fans hopefully that gets things flowing correctly

If your exhaust is working properly you do not need intake fans…trust me

Last night i put in a secondary exhaust fan. Both are visison 4inch fan 195 cfm. My intake is the ac infinity t4. Then looks like its about to get sucked in. Ac infinity is at setting 7 . Max is 205 scm.

Careful with this. Dumping a bunch of humidity into an attic has been known to lead to some serious home repair issues.

Thank you for letting me know . I never thought about that. I did remove the insulation. Was hoping the heat and roof vents would take care of that.

If you really don’t care about the smell, then you can get rid of the carbon filter to free up some flow.

If you want to start with the most flow out of the three fans you have now, then you would set them all up as exhaust fans side-by-side, while also giving them enough intake area for the tent to maintain close to static pressure (barely sucking in the walls) when the fans are at 100% power.

The 3rd fan is being used as a intake. The 2 4 inch are being used as exhaust

Something I did one time, long, long ago, when I was running a single 4" exhaust…
I went to a big box home improvement store and bought a 4" Y adapter used for dust collector systems and put it inline with a 4" bathroom exhaust hose in an attic space that was vented out the roof. The flapper in the bathroom exhaust fan unit prevented backblow, and all my smells went right out the roof to the atmosphere above my house.
Not saying it would work in your situation, but just something to help think outside the box is all.
