VeggieTales....Pros and Cons to longer Veg Times

My first grow I vegged for 3-4 months mainly because I had inadequate lighting and too many plants. I made a lot of upgrades this go around and could actually flip the clones I bought in four weeks. I learn more every grow thanks to this great community.

Since joining here and learning of Autos I’ve been wondering about what you said. Grow them out while vegging your photos🤔

Do you amend your nutrient line or continue as normal?

I’m always amending with something, it’s a disease, I can’t leave stuff alone.

@Hellraiser , My name is @StonedCold13 and I to have this problem😣

That is surprising, this is where the subjective aspect I think has a large role like dbrn32 mentioned. Do you know what might have resulted in the same yield weight?

I plan maybe at some point to grow an auto. But just like @BobbyDigital , I’ll be creating a perpetual grow. Still new to the plants I plan to try and work through some strains to find some good ones to keep in rotation. My eventual goal with my finished grow room would be a harvest roughly every 2-2.5months.

Yes, I had some spider mites on a few plants that caused a dip in yield.

I don’t Veg at all. Its straight 12/12 for the entire grow.

These went between 7 to 8 feet tall. I couldn’t imagine their height would be if I actually Vegged.

As its hotter than Hell here for 8 to 9 months my electric bill would be astronomical since with all the applied fees cost $0.15 to $0.20 per kilowatt. If we had Central Air I probably would Veg.

Growing an auto gives some quick return while taking plenty of time to mainline and LST to make the photo easy to flower IMO.

What strain ya growing @MrPeat ?

@2GreenThumbs I have Tora Bora which is a 99% Indica. She has fat flowers but very short like a Indica should be. Its from Pacific Seeds.

I haven’t decided on the next grow cycle. I will probably pick ones that can turn purple. I am entering my Prime Time to grow in South Texas. As this one is in its final couple of weeks.

Looks like a just go with flow kind of grow!

This is how I grow. I let Mother Nature determine how they should grow. I can’t wait for her to finish. :+1::+1::+1:

What’s it smell like? Prime time? We starting to harvest outdoor from Texas all along the gulf coast now.

@GulfCoastGurilla Its kinda has a sweet, fruity smell to her. I don’t smell the earthy part. Here is what they say she tastes like.

“ Whatever the case may be, Tora Bora can help you get a good night’s rest. When planted and harvested, Tora Bora marijuana seeds produce a fruity and earthy aroma as plants. You’ll likely notice an aftertaste of hash, pine, and spice. It almost feels like you’re drinking herbal tea right before bed.”

I grow indoors and we have no Central Air. So my prime time to grow as its cooling outside. My side of the house is around 85 degrees. I only cool my grow room and I use a big fan in my room. So I can’t tell its hot till I get in the kitchen.

My perfered grows usually veg about 4-6 months with heavy training, but I like my girls thick. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Edit, sorry I don’t always explain my answers. This method was based around a four plant max legal constraint. 1 mother, 1 clone, 1 veg, 1 flower. If done correctly, it will yield 3-4 lbs each 3 month flower cycle.

looks like a feild of dreams! lol!!

That is how my flower tent needs to look when they are ready.

So you have 2 tents, one in veg for the mother/clone and vegging plants, and another tent to flower the giant plant that just went through a 3 months veg period?

(is that awesome picture just one plant?)

Unfortunately that pics is not a single plant. I haven’t gone over a 25 Sq ft canopy for a single plant in a while. Arms can’t reach the middle for defoliation. this journal covers alot of techniques.
