Nevermind, I looked it up. Looks like an iron and zinc foliar supplement. I strongly recommend getting a cannabis friendly fertilizer.
Yea stop doing that. Put the spray bottle down. Throw it out the window. Even the foliar feed is probably unnecessary at this stage. The only occasion to mist is pest treatment or a very intentional foliar feed.
Cannabis is a wet/dry cycle plant. Give it lots of water in the soil til the pot is totally saturated and feels heavy. Then let it dry out til the pot feels nice and light (if you have an empty pot you can fill with fresh soil, you’ll feel the difference easily between “wet” and “dry.”)
Very. Growing weed is unlike any other houseplant. If you’re a natural green thumb, you’re more likely to kill weed than grow it on your first try or two. You sorta need to treat it like a cactus or other succulent. Lots of water, but infrequent waterings.
All advice on top is spot on. Take a breathe it’s ok, Massive learning curve, don’t worry, tag and ask all the questions you want. Your 2 girls are fine, you are on right track, get your water right 6.5, I know knowing about your lights, also I might have missed it humidity, try to keep it around 75-80 when plants are young, the get the water from leaves, before roots are established, good luck keep it up
When I started growing 2 years ago I used a T5 HO like yours. Yes it grew plants but the buds where light and airy. I switched to a HLG 260 light for my 3x3x6 tent and glad I did. I now use the T5 for seedling stage.
One of the biggest problems that new growers have is they feel exactly the way you do confused dazed head spinning but what you need to do is take a deep breath and relax all is not lost a ph problem can be fixed and im sure ur plants can be fixed by using the correct ph water so u said u have a tent coming thats a great start , one of the most important things you need to learn is relax and breath and not to micro manage everything every new growers seem to micro manage everything and they get into trouble and make mistakes ive been there and done the same thing ive learnt from my mistakes ,you will get there in the end everyone here in this community are more than willing to help anyone that needs it ,in saying this just have fun with growing is a happy and peaceful past time
Sorry for the late reply. I was informed that I had reached my limit as a new person and had to wait 24 hours for further communication. I’m trying to combine my response by tagging a couple of other people on this reply, hope that’s okay.
Thank you, I will not give up on them! I can’t even give up on crippled butterflies. I will love them to the end. I just don’t expect to get any fruit from them. Thank for the tip about Photone, I will check that out.
Update on Photone: I downloaded that app but I’m not sure what I’m looking at. I’m confident I figured out the correct light bulb, but I don’t understand the reading. (Looks like I’m having trouble with my picture downloads of the Photone reading.)
Also, I’ve ordered a HM digital ppm pen meter and thermometer with humidity reader for the tent.
The ppms: I feed them 1 x week. A few times now. This is what I spray on them and they started to grow. @Graysin
I have now implemented your advice from your reply. I did the math and the nutes I was using was way off. I will need to order some fertilizer, but I see I will need 3 different kinds. In the meantime, (using what I have) since I want active vegetation (nitrogen), I was thinking fish fertilizer 5-1-1 with a bit of added kelp and molasses until I can figure out what to get for flowering stage and finishing stage. What are your thoughts on that?
Ok, well that makes my heart sink a bit. That wasn’t enough light even in the reflective tent? I will look into that other light. I’ll let my husband know that might have to be my Valentine’s present.
My strongest suggestion by far, is to look into Jack’s 321. It is a nutrient formula that is very easy to use, easy to mix, and truly idiot proof. It is what I am using. It is not organic? So I think if you were looking for organic, it may not be for you. If you are looking for organic, I can tag some people who had some good experience doing organic grows. I am not one of them. Anyhow, yes Jack’s is wonderful. And there are several others that we can recommend, depending on your needs. But you will find the vast majority of us use jacks because it is good from seed to finish, with very little additional supplementation required.
As far as what you have on hand, I would do a quick Google search, for what the NPK ratio is on cannabis. I think that whenever I am in veg stage, I am still fairly light on nitrogen, and heavy on potassium and phosphorus. I think they may be close to the same ratio one to one to one, but I can’t swear to that without looking.
Thanks for the tag @Graysin ! @MeEasy and @SmokeyMtnHighs and I are using earthdust in living soil. Mix your soil, add the base, let it cook, and topdress twice - that is my kind of growing, simple.
Ok thanks, I looked that up and Earthgrow sounds great. I’m assuming you topdress with the “boost” formula like the video said? Also, are you planting your “soaked” seed straight away in it’s 5 gallon cloth bag?
I just started with Jack’s and Coco so I couldn’t tell you much about organics. I’m not even sure which growers here are start to finish, 100% true organic, but they’re around.
Organic is best to blend/mix your own soil. You can just water for the first month or so, then top dress every couple of weeks, while still only watering.
With the Photone app, you slide to DLI and you can select your lighting cycle (18/12/6). @BobbyDigital literally lit my tent and knows his stuff.
I’m still pretty new to indoor growing, only about ⅓ of the way through my first grow, so I’m still on training wheels. Buuuuuut with a little patience, it’s fun AF!!! Don’t be afraid to ask stuff. Whoever doesn’t know the answer, knows the growers that does!
Yeah that’s correct. I’m on my first grow (with jacks nutes 321) I’m cooking my soil now for my next grow(switching to Earth Dust) I personally did now “soak” my seeds at all. I put them straight into the pots I’m growing in (no transplanting) all my seeds sprouted in 4 days (alot quicker then I expected lol) feel free to check out my journal as I literally started my journal to ask questions then bought equipment and started my grow. I’m probably going to harvest 2 of my 4 possibly this weekend. You will definitely get all the help you need from the great people here! Thanks for the tag @JaneQP .
OOOOhhhhh geez, looking at this DLI chart you sent, my reading was 3.7 so I lowered the light again but not as close as I had them before where I was feeling warmth on they hand. I’ve got is reading 10.2 on the DLI now. If the goal is 35-50 DLI, I am in big trouble. Should I keep the light on 24/7 now because I have the wrong lights?
They are not auto. I’ve been doing a 14 hour light cycle at the moment.
I use pH down and pH up from Advanced Nutrients
General Hydroponics also has reliable pH up/down.
Get a 5ml dropper and you are all set
If you will be mixing nutrients this growth stage PPM chart is handy
Some of my seedling looked much worse than yours. Definitely salvageable. Get them under a decent veg light and don’t drown them (I have been known to do that) and they will take off.
