Tylersays - First Grow w/ First Grow 2.0 Featuring the A-U-T-O-matic Experience

OOh…just saw my picture of Chico I posted yesterday, maybe I should catch him and bring him in the tent! LOL!

Spider Mites - meet Spider! LOL! Maybe a Lady Bug!

Plants are still looking good. But I know that’s not the end of it…gotta be diligent!
Turns out we do have an Ace - I thought it was True Value LOL! Not my side of town…although this town ain’t that big! LOL!
At any rate, got 2 bottles of Jacks Dead Bug ready to go.
I was surprised at the variety of things they have there! They even had obvious “weed-centric” items and FF Sledgehammer and CalMag! LOL! I almost bought some Root Riot cubes but figured - Why? I’ve got like 100+ quality seeds. LOL! I will definitely keep them in mind for future use.

Finished building my scrog frame!! It’s just dry fitted now as a quick downpour came up and I got hungry.
With a name like Pineapple Cake you think this weed would be more filling! LOL!
It’s pretty sturdy if I say so myself.

I plan on using Liquid Nails to bond the joints and will be filling everything below the 4 way joints with sand for weight.
The top scrog will be bonded unto itself but not fixed to the main scrog so it can be brought in when/if needed.
The overall height is 35" .
I cut the supports for the secondary at 12", but that might have been a bit too much ambition.
I just thought about it, but if I hadn’t bought the pole mounts for the fans, I could have still used the 4 ways and the clips to get the fans above the canopy with a piece of PVC…Hmmm…
I might walk back out in a bit and start measuring my spaces for the drill holes and screws. I think the rain has passed but that’ll just make it more humid in the garage.

Depends on how this next slice of Pineapple Cake hits me!
I really like this stuff - I’m gonna have to find some of those beans somewhere…So far I have 1. LOL
Thought I had 2 but apparently the other had a hairline fracture from the grinder and dried out.

@JaneQP @MeEasy - Should I hit the ladies again with the Jacks or give them the night off?
Guess I’ll do some research, got a couple of hours before LO.

Happy Growing Everyone!!

This was gonna be my actual only helpful recommendation. Look up spider mite predators. Best thing smoking lol. Sorry so late to the party. Looks like ima @MeEasy style blister. Loved catching up with ur work. Lovely plants. Excellent lighting choice! You wont be disappointed. Hate the pest infestation. Eradicate those lil f’rs.

Here for the rest of the ride though.

Hey man - Thanks a ton for checking it out. I would have tagged you before but I try not to impose on people too much. People got things to do! LOL!

I’m very happy with the plants myself! I did some guerilla grows 30 years ago and never had seed that grows as vigorously as the one’s I’ve bought with good genetics. It makes a difference.
The second half of the equation is the guides and guidance I’ve gotten from the site and forum.
Both have and continue to be invaluable in my pursuits.

Yeah, since we went legal and I decided to see what I could do with it I’ve gone from dabbler who bought a tent kit to guy who added a light, upgraded the exhaust, bought a smaller, second, tent and drastically upgraded the lighting!
Thankfully the woman doesn’t see everything I buy on the internet!
*in all honesty some of it was paid for with miles accumulated from her using my card on Amazon.

Ain’t no blisters around here - all tips, tricks, advice and conversation are welcome!!

HGE!!

Bahaha. Mine has invested in my ‘hobby’ a few times. She still doesnt know half the ish Ive bought. As ur learning seedwhoring is one of the worst bugs… lighting is expensive but usable across the board. Having 200+ seeds in storage? Less useful but wont stop u from hoping on a new sale will it. Haha.

God I was looking up a past seed order so I could offer my brother some spares and found myself browsing the Deals page like I don’t already have 30 diff strains to grow. :skull:

It’s everything I can do to not seriously look for this Pineapple Cake strain! LOL!

One thing that’s helping is my Grape Ape landed in a neighboring city earlier this evening and should be here tomorrow afternoon! YAY!!
My bonus Northern Lights Autos better be there! LOL!
And supposedly the Guerilla Glue will be here Tuesday, but I’m dubious of that one.
And of course I have to get my car inspected tomorrow so when they come they’ll be sitting in the hot box a bit before I get to them. :frowning: :anguished: :cold_sweat:

Pre-LO update - Girls are looking really green and good!

I plucked a couple of small leaves that looked like they might have bugs and they did, but after watching for several seconds I saw zero movement on either leaf. :grinning:
I didn’t spray them tonight, but I think I am tomorrow before LO.

I think I’m gonna flip them in a week or two at the most honestly.
They went into the pots July 1st and that should be about 8-9 weeks.

@PurpNGold74 - I like to think they fly first class! LOL!
I have a road trip to Boston and a bag of Northern Lights story! And I love the indicas.
Currently growing ILGM Granddaddy Purple outside and they’re doing great!
The GDP and Grape Ape are me trying to recreate my most successful guerilla grow when I had a 7’ plant that was purple with lavender hairs!! It was BEAUTIFUL!!
A buddy of mine took B&W photos because he could develop them - and somewhere I have a picture of me cradling the central cola in my arms like a big, fat, purple baby!
YUM!!

Edit: OH CRAP! Forgot to mention. Zoom in on the pic and see if you guys think that’s light burn on the newest shoots up top. I wasn’t sure if it was that or just bew growth responding well to the light upgrade.
Tomorrow I’m moving the exhaust set-up toward the rear of the tent and getting some thing so I can use the adjustable hangers. Don’t want to damage the ladies so I backed off the light a click.

The lighter green is normal for new growth. No alarm

After my recent bug discovery ANYTHING that looks weird will make me jump! LOL!
Haven’t checked the ladies yet this morning. I usually don’t till about 11…watched pot never boils…
I’m gonna take the light back up a click at first bed check.

I did wake up to the three best words in the English language - “Out for Delivery”! YAY!!
Grape Ape fem and 2 free NL Autos arriving today!

The envy is real! Two more days til new tent, but who’s counting? Oh right… me!

Bet money your girls are growing great and gorgeous as always.

well, I bumped the light back up. LOL! I swear I’m seeing a flush of growth from the Safers bath - what is the active ingredient in that stuff and why am I not just feeding the ladies that?
Of course, this is after the new light upgrade so who knows! :face_with_monocle: this cat maybe, but not me! LOL!

The close up is Mary J. She’s the center plant and the one with the cooties…
She seems to be doing well.
I haven’t seen anymore bugs but I will be spraying them again tonight before LO.

Got a 1pm appointment to get the car inspected. Ugg! I don’t anticipate any issues but I wouldn’t be totally upset if the tires failed. LOL! I don’t necessarily want to spend the $1200 on new ones but I would get great fun out of a week chewing the shit out of the Michelins that are on there!
And I could go back to Continentals. Michelin may be recommended but they ride rough and the Continentals are soooo sticky for hard cornering! LOL! I WILL NOT put run flats back on it! (Worst tires EVER!)
My seed order will probably be in my mail(hot) box 10 minutes after I leave home! Double UGG!

Hopefully finishing up the scrog frame tonight and get it strung up and ready for the tent.
I’m flipping on September 1st. Time to move into the next phase of plant growth.

Happy Growing Everyone!!

Too funny!

Well, I was over in @Syndrix s journal giving comment when I got a notification…the mail had arrived!! YAY!
So, I lit a joint and started the walk…LOL! 150ft later…

The Grape Ape all came in 4 packs and then the 2 free Northern Lights autos.
All the seeds look healthy except for 1 questionable GA in the bottom bag second to bottom. The NL both look great!
When I decide to grow this strain I’ll start with that bean and go from there. Likewise I’ll start with the smaller NL. Same way I approach a bag of weed - small nugs go first and work my way up, shake and keif dressings along the way and shaky goodness at the end! LOL!

My bakers rack arrived today - Amazon changed the date 3 times in 3 days LOL!
I’ll getthem under the girls tonight after the poison spraying.

HGE!!

They all look happy and healthy. Beware. Those lights will boost the amount you need to feed at. The photosynthesizing goes into OVERDRIVE

That’s a really interesting point that I hadn’t actually considered, thanks Purp! No wonder my ladies never show any Nute stress lol

Evening update -
Went back there to drench the ladies again and decided I’d do a little poking around before I did the deed.
The first two leaves I sampled showed non-moving mite like spots.
On the third leaf I saw several non-moving and one that was.
I was already committed to the treatment so it didn’t really make a difference but as a head count I took it as a positive sign that I’m heading in the right direction.
I also learned that sometime in the next few days I gotta take some shoots out. Time to cut out the larf and concentrate on the stronger sites. Plus it will help air circulation and the soil to dry out.

I did remember to suit up this time and wore a sweatshirt - because it’s freezing in there - and got my vinyl gloves.
I soaked the living shit out of those plants!
I got in there and tried to make sure I got every leaf on every shoot covered. That’s how I finally figured out I need to cut the dead weight.LOL!
Those girls should  me for the massage I gave them. :yum:
Sadly, in my eagerness to …well, smoke some weed and get it done, I decided to watch a couple of minutes of Kimmel while I burned and totally forgot to get a before pic!
I did get one of Gwen in the tent and Mary J. and Lauryn outside of the tent.
Pineapple Cake life…

Sad, wet, kittens…

Obviously the light wasn’t on.
You can see my bakers racks I put under each under Lauryn H. all the way to the left of the tent.
They kinda stretch the trays but they’ll last through this grow. Next round I’m relenting and going to fabric.
It’ll be a whole new set-up, I hope it works for the scrog screen I still haven’t finished building!

The outside ladies are loving the sun and heat being back.
Not counting chickens but :crossed_fingers:

@PurpNGold74 - point taken. kinda stands to reason if you think about it. But that’s the beauty of this forum - the tips and tricks you learn. And it comes from people’s experience - not a textbook!

And I guess that’s pretty much where I’m at, atm.

Totally unrelated side note - Today might be the forth or fifth time in 35 years of driving that my car passed the first time!! Not the same car LOL!!
They “found” 2 oil leaks - which I’ll have my mechanic look at - and quoted me a price north of $2500 LOL!
As if!! J will square me away for a lot less, I’m sure.
He’s next anyway - got a oil warning 2 days ago.
Sadly, I didn’t need tires! Kinda…
I really want to eat up these Michelins!

Happy Growing Everyone!!

These ladies WANT to grow!!
And I swear - whatever is in this spray they freakin’ LOVE it!

Today the focus is on getting this exhaust and light hanging situation taken care of.
The day I got the fan and looked at the provided ducting I thought it wasn’t going to be enough so I ordered the 20’ piece from Amazon. Turned out the included piece fit perfectly, even after cutting out a piece to connect the filter to the fan. Well, now I’m glad I never sent it back because I’m gonna need it!

I dropped the intensity a click because the girls are growing so quickly they’re literally growing into the danger zone! I’m getting all kinds of funky leaf development at the tops.

After a quick inspection this morning I didn’t find any moving critters, but I gotta be diligent! Keep looking every chance I get.

The silica supplement is really doing its job. As I was massaging the spray into the leaves it was literally like what I imagine a porcupines back feels like! The stems are getting thick and stiff! Gotta hold up them big buds! ()

The outside ladies are cranking back up after the overcast and crappy week we had last week.
Haven’t watered since Sunday so I’m sure I will be this afternoon - looking at 90+ every day this week. I plan on blasting the heck out of them with the early bloom nutes. Those ladies are strong and can take it! Probably a double dose, but I won’t be pushing them that hard.

I know the woman has a couple of things for me to do around here today and the cat pantry(yes - they have their own pantry - in their own room, which might as well be the entire house bar 3 rooms!LOL!) is a mess and I have about 10 cases of food to get on the shelves. And who knows what else is on her agenda.

I’ll get it all done - it’s what I do. LOL!

Have to or I’ll never hear the end of it! LOL!

Happy Growing Everyone!!
