Twisted sisters. Enlightened by cubes

Thank you @Bulldognuts, I must be honest, I don’t fully understand VPD. I just try to keep the temp and RH in the sweet spot, as much, as I can, it’s not always possible.
I do think I will struggle with high humidity in flower, but knowing that in advance is a great head start, which I owe to all of the awesome people and amazing knowledge amassed on this wonderful forum. Thank you for your response, I constantly admire your journal, plants and set-up, those lights are impressive the even growth in the canopy is just awesome!

@QueenCityB, thank you and welcome. I do hope you don’t have a hermi/male on your hands.
Good vibes and good luck :v:

Clone Comparison Update
We have some root action Ladies and Gents. Both Aloe Clones - GL have roots.
No roots on the Clonex yet, they are a day younger, so will keep monitoring. But very happy about getting roots on my first cloning attempt.

Good night everyone.
Keep it green :palm_tree::v:

I use teas, worm castings and bu’s bru compost for N with some kelp and oyster shell, (food for your bacteria’s) and I use some happy frog steamed bone meal, and some down to earth potassium sulfate with kelp and oyster shell, bubble for 24 hrs, I use two buckets, one to bubble in then I put a 5 gallon paint strainer in the other bucket, strain then I hang each bag on my clothes line for a few hours to let dry out some then I mix in my soil. Hope that helps some. :cowboy_hat_face:

Idk, you could probably run either from start to finish under ideal intensity honestly. If you’re specifically looking for longer internodal spacing, then go with 2700k under lower intensity. There’s a lot of misconceptions here really. Most hps is between 1700-2100k cct, and you can veg under them too. Just a matter of understanding where you’ll end up.

This may help you some too

Thank you, appreciate it. I figure, if I want bigger buds, they need room to grow, right? GL is really tight on internodal spacing. Added to save file for reading after work this afternoon.
Have a great day everyone.

@dbrn32 thanks for the article very interesting read:

“Photons fully utilized by the plant in chemical reactions will heat the leaf less than photons which are absorbed but not utilized. Therefore, measuring leaf surface temperature indirectly measures the efficiency of the light spectrum for growing plants”

“Radiation not used for photosynthesis or other chemical reactions only serves to heat up the leaves, requiring cooler ambient temperatures to keep the plants’ leaves at their ideal temperature.”

Sounds like some experimentation is in order.

I’m going to enjoy this :face_with_monocle:

Comparison Update

I do believe I see roots, on both Clonex Choc’s, they have been much slower than aloe, but they are roots.

GL’s have new growth, GL2 either has a rich mix, or has an exploratory root, that has punched straight through to S.S

But, 4 from 4… So far, hopefully they last until renovations are complete. :crossed_fingers: :v:

What is that you have clones wrapped in and do you use domes on them?I’m wanting to start cloning and hearf aloe was good. Do you use actual aloe vera plant or aloe gel you can buy? Looks like you started in 2 cups like a seedling then what environment did you have them in?

Hi @Amazon66, for the aloe clones I used Mr Crabs aloe technique, real aloe vera, humidity dome (70%+ RH) and clones were planted in peat pellets to assist with taking root. Once rooted, I added more soil, 2 different mixes in the 2 different types of clones. Aloe clones so far, have been more responsive than Clonex. Hope that answers your questions? If you would like more detail, scroll up. :v:

Pretty sure I asked before but was stoned, next morning remembered nothing. Thank you so much. :joy::seedling:

1 question what is wrapped around the clone you’re holding?

Yes you did :joy: but we all have those stoner moments, no problem.

The clones aren’t wrapped, I planted them in Peat pellets to assist with growing roots, they retain awesome moisture and give the roots a good headstart.

So, I could just harvest an aloe leaf, squeeze a little goo out and use it for cloning?

@QueenCityB, Yes indeed, works very well. I am doing a comparison clone between Aloe and Clonex. 2 on the left are Clonex, 2 on right are Aloe. Growth in aloe is clearly better, so far. The burn in top right clone is either rich mix or curious root, but green growth underneath looks promising. Aloe have Supersoil in bottom 1/2. Clonex just have fertilised organic potting mix with a pinch of S.S in bottom
(couldn’t be completely mean)

I don’t know how to copy it to your thread, but I know how to share it on mine,
@QueenCityB, @Amazon66 and anyone else who hasn’t read it yet, enjoy, courtesy of Mr Crabs. :crab:

@Enlightened420, I’ll be reading that. Thanks.

Aloe is such an easy plant.

That’s definitely how I’ll do it next.
