Good morning all. I have one of my girls that has some pretty good leaf curl. This has been going on for roughly 4 days now. Old growth and new growth seems to have it. I keep leaning towards light/ heat stress but it seems like other plants would have it too, especially the ones that are taller and closer to the lamps? As you can see the others are fine as far as leaf curl. Ive read it could possibly be something viral and if so all the infected leaves should be removed.
This is from one of your multiple threads. Sticking with one helps us not to start over each time.
Is anything different?

@Spiney_norman I was trying to place threads in the areas they belong based on subject. I apologize.
Things that are different are:
-I am in 3gal plastic pots
-I have switched to RO water
-Ive added a 2nd HLG 260 v2 rspec and HLG30 UV light
- day temps are 77-78 and night is around 72
- RH is 45-50
Kinda looks like heat stress. How close are your lights?
@Spiney_norman 20" from canopy of tallest plant
You can see on the back left plant the fan leaves are reaching really good for light, but others arent, even though DLI is very close between them. Its funny how they all react differently to the same environment
Some of the growth on other plants looks off to me.
Have you check your runoff ph to confirm it’s in range?
What was your ppm in your tap water before ro system? If it was really high you have no way of knowing what the plants were getting, this could cause buildup in the soil.
You can see the new growth on this plant is twisted, the edges of the leaves have sort of a hook formation. I’ve had this happen with low soil ph
Anyway I’m not saying I’m right, but it’s worth checking.
@Dave101 my tap was high PPM and PH which is why I switched to RO. I should have added I did check runoff PPM when I watered on 3/31 and it was high. Ranged from 1600- 2200. Those tops were FIMed also and I noticed they did have a lighter color from stress I assume. I have one that is further along than the rest since FIM and has corrected its color.
I did feed 1/4 strength nutes last watering. I didnt catch the high PPM until I was almost done and decided to check it. I plan to water only until PPM comes down.
Another extremely embarrassing note, I was looking over my power strip/ timer and noticed I had one of 260 rspecs and UV light plugged into be constantly on! Im glad I caught it now and not to far into veg but man that makes me upset doing something that dumb. Could that be part of my issue is switching them to 18/6 and then back to 24 hrs?
@Spiney_norman @Dave101 could this be " wind clawing "?
I have a fan up high above this plant that is aimed straight down to get the warm air back down to the plants.
@Khaos850 It certainly could be. Warm air blowing directly on the leaves will remove moisture too fast causing the edges to curl. Try repositioning the fan somehow to lessen the effect.
@Spiney_norman I ran down last night and unplugged it as soon as I thought about it maybe being the issue. The older growth is still curled up this morning but the new growth already looks better.
