Trim/flush question

A question from a fellow grower:

Hi, I am growing in aeroponics, in 5 gal. pails with 6 inch net lids and also using 5 gal paint nets/strainers, but the roots are in my drain pipes. Is it alwright to trim them back as they will still be being flushed every 15 minutes with nut. solution?

The roots are always going to try and grow into the drains. It would help if you could add a riser similar to ebb and flow bulkhead set-up. This would allow 1/2"-1" standing water and roots would stay there…

This is one of 2 major reasons I do not use aeroponics. The other is the hot humid temps in the reservoir.

Yes, you may trim them if necessary.
