I have some pics of my trichomes and I am open to all suggestions on the age or what to do next. First time grower and we have gotten this far. Thank you in advance !!
Be sure to take your data from the flower calyx and not the sugar leaves. The leaves mature sooner. An overall shot of the plant in natural light would be good too.
Buds are the location to read trichomes. You got lots of clear …got aways to go.
Was pic#4 of a bud or leaf? I see a few pistils, so I’m thinking it’s a pic of a bud, not a sugar leaf? If it’s a bud, then you’re looking good. If it’s from a leaf, then I second a request for more bud trich pics, please.
thank you but what is a calyx ?
thank you for the input.
yes it is a bud, I still have whit pistils and I thought the trichomes where clear as well. I just got the 60x louve today so my first attempt at photos but these are from 4 different locations (bud sites) on the plant.
Get the actual bud part of the bud, not the leafy bit. If you’re looking at trichs, no need to worry about pistils. Trichs are the most accurate gauge of ripeness.
All cloudy, no amber is peak ripeness. I harvest, here. A lot of people do prefer to manipulate the plant’s natural high & harvest with amber trichs for extra body high. However, amber trichs are actually degraded trichs. Highest thc is in all cloudy trichs, with the least amount of amber possible.
has anyone tried Himalayan mineral water for watering their plants ? curiosity ?
Honestly, you might get bigger shots if you remove that clip-on scope & just zoom in.
A pic of whole plant wouldbe nice. Generally i use my pistols as a guide. I dont start watching tricomes until i get about 75 or 80% of my pistols go orange. Then time to start watching tricomes and get ready to do a final flush.
What Zoom do you need to view them clearly and is a large magnifying glass enough or do you need that jewellers tool?
I tried the magnifying glass and then doubled the glass and still pic wasn’t clear. I got the 60x louve from e-bay for like $3 and bam I could clearly see the smallest details of the plants. I understand that the Trichome coloring is critical to a timely harvest and top end product. this louve attaches to the camera lens of your phone as well. Best “O” luck with your grow.
Take the scope off & just try zooming in with your camera.
These pics are from my phone, w/o an added scope, using 8x zoom.
I have a clip on scope & an usb microscope, but they require such a steady hand to keep things focused, I don’t even try taking pics with them.
nice, Im not sure I have a zoom feature on my phone.
