I’m seeing some milky to some amber. It looks like the outside of the bud (a lot of sugar leaf shots?). You should be looking at the buds themselves. Try stepping back and taking a larger view.

Something like this.

Apologize if this is a stupid question, but how do you see the color of the trichomes in that picture?

I think he’s saying look more at the overall picture …ypu want to see very little white pistols
Mostly brown or orange and receding and also the sugar leaves those trichomes turn amber sooner than on the calyx(buds) those are the ones you want to look at for ripeness …
Myself I prefer a mix of all three white cloudy and amber …majority being cloudy

All those things combined are what’s used to determine in my opinion

But mainly too HES saying they’re too close up to determine where the ambers are hard to see what’s sugar leaf or calyx In those

I’m sorry. I can enlarge that pic to see the trichomes. By having a larger view of the bud, I can compare different areas.

This bud is ready for flush. Still waiting for more cloudy and there is barely any amber. There may be some clear, but no more than to be expected.

It may be the camera, but I try to take the shot straight on, so the focus is more on the bud and not the leaves.

I’ve heard those little, cheap macro lenses that you attach to a phone are great for photographing trichromes Probably nothing else. On what they showed though they look pretty darn close imo :+1:

Ok. I think I understand. Thank you immensely!

They looking close , maybe this will help you decide .

It’s me again……the problem child. Mind looking at these trichomes and give your opinion on harvesting?

I tried to make sure I got trichomes on the bud and not just sugar leaves.

I say Lacewing is right Harvest anytime you want .
I still see some clear trichomes , you could give it a couple of days if you want & see if more go milky .
If you download the { When to harvest picture } .
You can enlarge the picture & see the difference between half clear / cloudy , & Highest levels THC ., Milky / cloudy .
Good looking grow …

I love the names! By giving them names I feel like they are pets and I take better care of them. I have a spider plant named lay off. The plant would be passed from a laid off employee to another (who would eventually would be laid off). I was given the plant and took it with me when the office closed.
