Hi everyone. I have started my first indoor grow in many YRS. I got 2 Bruce B’s, auto’s under 2 “upgraded” Mars th 1000’s . They are about 4 weeks in to flower and they look Great! I got a Vispar VA 1200 Bluple light. Is it worth adding during flowering or should I stay my course? Again plants look great but its early
Try it out and watch for changes or improvements and adjust from there.
If your hitting your target DLI with the two lights you’re running it would be kind of a waste. But like @Medicineman33 said try it out and see if it improves anything.
More light equals more flower.
My Vote is YES, i did. at 1000 meter watts, summer was too difficult.
Winter is going to be interesting, too.
Photone app maxes measured numbers inside tent, at same level as max OUTDOOR natural summer sunlight. Adding second light improved light distribution/PPFD.
Pictures?
Im also still confused about how lighting works. I currently have a 200w spider farmer light. Im not looking to expand as I only want to grow 2 autoflowers at a time. Does wattage of the lights only effect grow area? Or would a higher wattage light
potentially increase size and yield? Wondering if I could use an upgrade. I have very limited understanding of how it works. I use an app on my phone and according to it I can easily reach and exceed the recommended ppfd and DLI for all stages across my canopy. Does that mean the plant has full potential as far as light needs go? I 'm guessing to much light intensity could be harmful but usually when I look at other peoples grow and they have big giant monster autoflowers they seem to have higher wattage leds.
How big is your tent (grow area) ?
200 true watts should do 2 plants just fine.
my tent is 5x5 (i didnt want to be crowded, probably a mistake) all i grow in it is the 2 autos in 3 gallon pots side by side and their canopy is 16"x36". I only moved them into a tent for odor control so I got a way to large tent. I like to be able to move around them. but Now that I have a proper sized carbon filter Im able to control heat and humidity pretty good.
I think that would be just fine.
Perhaps move the plants toward a corner and place the light directly over the center between the two plants. That way you get some reflected light from two sides.
To fill that 5x5 with plants and light if you ever want to do that will take about 1000 watts. Spider Farmer has a suitable light for like 800 dollars.
But if you only want to do a couple at a time then you seem set up fine.
