Thinking about seeds

Hypothetically speaking, if you got mature seeds from a freshly harvested plant, say if you’re breeding, how long would the dormancy period of the seed be? Or would there be none? Would they require any kind of stratification? Or could they be planted right away? I’ve considered keeping some males sometime in the future. Probably not for a while, but was just thinking about it.

Huh?

The seeds could be used immediately or if stored in a cool dry place they can be stored indefinitely.

@DoobieNoobie nailed it :+1:
Older seeds sometimes take longer to germinate but as stated if keeped in cool dry space you can store them indefinitely

The reason I ask is because I know some trees require a cold moist stratification and white sage and passion flowers along with many other plants have a dormancy period of however long that require cold temperatures. I wasn’t sure if Cannabis could be amongst one of these types.
