Tent temp getting too high

I could try exhausting the inline fan outside like the AC, but i would have to make something thatll fit in the window so im not letting the hot air from outside in at the same time and use a LOT of ducting to get to it.

That would work. Consider re working the in-line fan to another part of the tent closer to the window.

What light do you have?

i have 2 1200W LED lights that don’t produce too much heat. light on/off temp differences have only been 6-10F

That’s good. If you had HPS, that would be a whole other conversation.

Temp control is important. So is fresh air. Recirculating the air will present heat issues that you’re already having and make air stale. Old air out, new air in. If you end up blowing the inline outside, you’ll create a slight negative pressure in the room and it will find the fresh air from the cracks around the door, heating ducts, where ever. And then you’ll have the air circulation you need

awesome, will be moving a couple things around (possibly the entire room) to get better positioning.
i was thinking, maybe even possibly putting the tent in front of the window, and cutting wholes the size of ducting allowing me to vent my exhaust out the window, and allowing me to have the AC inside the tent allowing me even more control. But im not sure if thats the best idea.
or do you think just adding more ducting to the inline exhaust to the window would be better.

That’s up to you. I’d have a hard time cutting a hole in a brand new tent, but that’s just me. Remember, the tent needs to not exhaust into the same are as the intake. Old air out, new air in.

What ever is best for the cheeba.

What brand are your 1200w lights?

The brand is called exlenvce, read a lot of good reviews on it and got a buddy of mine that’s been using one and his plants are looking pretty good so I went a head and got 2 of them as my tents bigger than his.

There’s a lot of info on lights on the forum.

Those lights are only 235w. You’ll run into issues come time to flower.

Those are Amazon blurple lights. Everyone has been hoodwinked into buying one. Myself included.

You might consider if possible put a dryer vent in the wall to give you a place to exhaust hot stale air from tent to a outside area. As @NeoGroR mentioned important to get rid of the hot stale air.

@Siksr another thought is if you are closing the door to your grow room you might try leaving the door open so it can pull more air in from the other areas outside the room. My tent is in a bedroom and I can get it a few degrees cooler by leaving my door open

Looks like you got the temperature dialed in. Good job. Did you vent the tent out the window?

As for your lights, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you got tricked. Most of the reviews you read were BS. Those companies pay people to take bad reviews down.

Your lights will grow weed. But. The better the lights, the better the yield. I’m just pulling numbers out of the air but we’re you get a 1/2oz off the blurple, you could have gotten 3oz off a good light.

Explore the forum. There’s a lighting and ventilation category with more info than you can comprehend.

Tag people by putting an @ sign and start typing their name, you’ll see.

Tag me in anything. If I don’t have any insight, I know who does.

I actually haven’t got to vent the tent out to the window yet, but will be doing that today. Dang, so do you think I should buy different lights for even veg?

Yes I do.

It’s all about the yield. There’s growers on here pulling 20+ ounces out of a 3x3 every 2 months. And that has to do with the lighting. You can give them perfect ph’d water with perfectly mixed nutrients in the most perfect soil, with out the right lighting, the flowers will be small.

You can get into a HPS/MH for little money, but they’re more expensive to operate and you run into heat issues you have to get under control. You can find them on Craigslist even. I bought two 1000w Ballasts off some guy for $10. I just need to buy a cool tube and some bulbs. I don’t what I’ll do with them but now I have them should I expand my grow.

Good LED lights are not cheap. You’ll save in the long run though. There’s a company out of Ohio that everyone raves about. HLG. Horticulture Lighting Group. They make DIY kits. It’s the best bang for the buck in the LED world. They’re still twice as expensive as an entry level HPS/MH.

Will definitely be looking into new lights, sucks that’s $300 went down the drain due to my lack of research on this forum. You’ve been tremendous help to me, thank you so much!

Any time! Growing is fun! I’m having a blast doing it. Check out my journal.

1st grow. Let the adventure begin!

Dude, read up. Lots of people people on here got tricked into buying one of those. Myself included.

I still use the light, but it’s next to my good light.

We could open a store with the amount of cheap leds the members on here have in storage.

You have been given some very good advise! Same advise I recieved a year ago or so. It hurt financially for a short time but I got over it. This was I last grow of one plant under a hlg260xl.

I credit this result to the hlg lights and the luck in not killing her due to inexperience.

Definitely stay away from a hps light if you already had temperature issues.
