Taken the plunge (going wrong)

Hi all. Major newbie. Hoping to get some help and advice to get me through this.

Silver leaf white widow feminised seed (not auto)
Pic is 3 weeks 4 days from seed
Watering 500ml every time soil (biobizz allmix) is dry 2/3 inches down.
Soil ph 6.5/7
Phlizon 2500w cree cob led light.

Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

Hi all.
Just checked on girls and there seem to be rust spots droopy leafs which i have worked out to be high soil ph and phosphorus deficiency. I have adjusted the soil ph and added a small amount of terra vega and calmag to see if it corrects itself

Hey hey @Thcdom! Well, I am honoured that you took the time to read my thread! How lovely of you  and welcome!
There’s some really great guys on here which I tend to rely on… oh I’d say about 95% of the time!
I’ll be honest, yours already looks better than mine did at that age.

You seem to have already done a bit of research and attempted to resolve the issues yourself, good on you!

I use different lights and i have an auto so we are somewhat different on those points but I’m more than happy to help you learn from my mistakes and I’ve met some amazing people on here that I know will be able to help out when we get stuck!

Let’s call in some people for the ride…
My good friend @Se7en, cheeky chappy @AZIrish, eagle eye @kellydans and for good measure my personal sensei @Spiney_norman :martial_arts_uniform:
I hope you guys don’t mind. :kissing_closed_eyes::kissing_closed_eyes::kissing_closed_eyes:

Good luck buddy!

CJ. :v:

Thank you. Your thread has helped me out with research so much appreciated.
I seen a fair few have helped you out greatly.
Yeah I went for photos instead of autos as I have time to correct issues this way.
Thank you for tagging others.
Hopefully yourself and se7en can help alot being fellow 3 prong growers

Looks good to me also! I’ll stay for the ride aswell :v:t2: The spots on the leaves could be where you’ve accidentally got water droplets on them?

Welcome to the forum , nice choice on strain. The widow genetics will make it a little easier for you, they are very resilient and forgiving.

Morning all.
Quick question i have a spare empty fish tank could I use this to leave my water in to dechlorinate I have a air stone in there to airiate it?
If so how long can it stay in there and fresh?
Can I mix my nutes and leave in aswell?

Thank you

I’m no expert but I’d be careful not to overwater. Try lifting the pots and feeling how heavy. Sometimes the top part of the soil can be dry, but still moist down below. The tips of your leaves are also curved downward, I’d be curious if that may be from overwatering.

For your second questions what nutes are you using? I believe I’ve read some growers will mix their nutes and store for up to a week, but I’d make sure it’s constantly mixing with a small pump or if the air stone can do that (not familiar with them). Just make sure you PH again before each feed.

Hope this helps, I’m still a bit new but love this new hobby! Good luck and feel free to keep me tagged!! :v:

Hi @stlleaf thanks for the input. I’m gonna leave them to dry out a bit before next watering anyway. The pots are usually fairly light before I water.
Iv currently for the canna terra nutes but I’m scrapping them and going to use the bio bizz nutes instead.
The fish tank is covered so no unwanteds can access it. Heated to 20°c with air stone to airiate it. Just want to be sure the water will be OK for long periods as its a 120l tank.I always ph the water after mixing to be sure

Good deal @Thcdom sounds like you’re on the right track! Also just to make sure, I mean to PH the water after you mix, and again right before you feed (after it’s been sitting after a few days). You may already be doing/understand this but I just wanted to clarify. :v:

@stlleaf yes ill ph the tank then ph the water in the jug before going into the soil.

I thought it was a bad idea but after watching videos (mr canucks grow) people seem to keep buckets of water for weeks at a time.

Hi mate, just catching up. I’ve not see new growth like that before but I did a quick bit of research would indicate overwatering and possibly ph issues.
So yeah, what @stlleaf said. :+1:

Not sure about storing pre-mixed solutions, I have read that even light can alter the ph. And if there is air getting into it you can risk mold developing. My humble opinion is to mix fresh each time. Otheriwise if the ph is outta whack when you go back to it, you gotta sort it out all over again. Just sounds like more work to me…

Hi cj.
I think watering schedule is ok. Maybe the soil ph again. Iv just checked it and its creeping into the 7s again
My room is in complete darkness so light to the water isn’t an issue. I also have 3 other fish tanks around the house and never have an issue with mould. Ill test ph and ppm when mixed then test again when watering.
My main concern is I live in a high chlorine area

Yeah watch that, nutrient lockout occurs at a ph of around 7 or higher. That was a big part of my early issues.

I gotta be honest, and it’s probably just me being a ditz, but I don’t really understand how you are incorporating the fish tanks into all this. Could you elaborate so I can better understand, please?:+1:

@CalamityJane its ok lol not incorporating fishtanks into the grow I was just curious as it wether I could use my spare one as a water res so chlorine could evaporate rather than going straight from tap to plant if that makes sense
