Switching Nutrients...Input Needed

Hey Everyone!

Looking for some thoughts/input.

Currently I am using Nectar for the Gods nutrients - love them, have no issues and I’ve been using them for 5-6 years. I like the fact it was mainly organic and really didn’t burn the plant if overfed.
Recent news is they will only be around this year before shutting down which means I will need to go with a new line.

Ideally I want to find something mostly or fully organic that is easy to use.

I am eyeing Coast of Maine fertilizers and soil:

I like the fact that coast of maine is available at my local agricultural store and I don’t need to go to a “grow shop” for more “cannabis” nutrients.

I have never used top dressed nutrients before.
Has anyone used this with luck when it comes to these nutrients?

Open to other suggestions as well - again looking mainly organic and simple.

Another one I saw was GreenGro?

Thank you!

Coast of Maine for the win! You want to get the Stonington Blend soil (gray bag) and then add about 8 more qts of perlite for cannabis. Youll want the Stonington Blend veg food for veg and the Buds N Bloom for flower. I supplement with castings tea about once orntwice a month and also ill feed once a week with blackstrap molasses watered in

I’ve never used dry nutrients before, do I need to pH my tap water to 6.5?

Do you use the fish bone/kelp/lobster meal nutrients? I see the Stonington blend food.

Thanks!

I use @Roadsideorganics.ok . Dry ammendments. Organic. Family owned. Very consistent results. VERY reasonable pricing. Small learning curve. Water only.
This product replaced Earth Dust for many of us. I push support for them because I dont want to see another family business fold when they have a fantastic product. I have a small thread up showing my grows with it.
Lights/exhaust/circulating fan/rh meter/nutes/water. Very basic.

No need to ph unless you start to notice issues. Ive never had issues from a fresh bag, (the soil will buffer the ph) just when i recycled because i didnt add a buffer. Ive never supplemented with lobster meal, but it wouldnt hurt to experiment. If using 5 gal containers, youll need to feed every 30 days. I like to feed half dose every two weeks to keep the fridge stocked. The molasses once a week to 2 weeks will keep the microbes in the soil fed. To feed just gently massage the food into the first few inches of soil. It wouldnt hurt after the first 30 days to add a tablespoon of agricultural epsom salts

I’ll take a look at their website and do some research. Seems like dry amendments may be the way to go, overall seems like much less work.

@ChittyChittyBangin

How long/many plants would you say a bag of their nutrients will last for? I am growing 2 currently, will need to be fed in about 30 days.

Amen brother. Im going to do a run with their amendments this fall for my winter project. Being self employed myself i like to support like minded folks.

They come in 3 lb bags. For 2 plants, youll have enough for at least 3 runs. So thay would be 2 planta, full cycle, 3 times lol…

I might also add that this is my experience with photos. All the autos ive grown have tended to eat less…

So do you add a layer of straw, compost, soil, etc, each time you top dress?

Not me. I scrape it in. I do add all my pruning back in for organic matter. I reuse my soil. Gets better and better. Reammend when new plants with basics for organic matter.

Awesome! I saw the how to and it mentioned straw, soil, compost, earthworm castings, etc. and wanted to know exactly what you did.
