I will find a better example when she fattens up.
That was the top bud from an Afghan Auto.

The ILGM Goldleaf re-veged clone (from you) got re-housed into a 2-gal bag of FFHF soil. Forgot to get a picture.

DDD Bag seed dropped 12-1-2024 from 2024 seed crop.
New home in 2-gal bag FFHF soil.

@DEEPDIVERDAVE. Do you have any interest in a clone of the norther lights ILGM gifted a few of us? I will be popping them New Year’s Eve. These ones:

Good morning everyone! It’s recently come to our attention that someone in the office is holding onto a small stash of regular seeds from one of our newer product drops. In an attempt to get my hands on them, AfgVet suggested some of you may be interested as well. Which brought us back to an entirely different conversation of being due to have some sort of community engagement event. So I sit before you with some questions in attempt to gather some feedback on potential interest. Who out there…

so it’s 89 Northern Lights 5 Bx. Cross between NL5#1xNL5#4.

Absolutely.
The Afghan Autos will be finishing,
The NL sounds great.

Learning experience.#5321
The current grow has Afghan Autos and HK Photos.
Autos in 5-gal bags and photos in 3-gal
Except one 5-gal bag has Two plants, grown together,
One Auto and One Photo.

All the Autos are heavy into flowering (week 5) and the photos are still veg.
Lights 17/7 and DLI above 60

Feed and Run-off goal has been 6.5/1000.
Regardless, only the Autos look “used” or nutrient deficient.
As in flowering used the available really fast to support growth.
Photos, slow and no cares (no flowers, no males).
Buds cut for space in tent. Only one lady cut on.
Microscope used clear, no amber in trichomes.
Fed with Jacks and Molasses.
PH/TDS 6.4/3000 going in and next week I will measure the run-off.
Time to smoke some.
1400 and the sun came out, finally.
Lawn grew an inch, today (or water receded and grass looks taller.

Still look to be early, IMO.

I’m sort of confused on the amber. Every time I see a picture of trichromes, I see some amber ones. I always think this to be close if not ready but see most of the more experienced folk saying “another week or two”. What percentage of amber is “ready”? I guess my conception is off because I prefer a more cerebral buzz. What percentage would be “too much” is a better question. How significant is the difference? Asking not to question your assessment but to better inform myself.

Watching amber trichomes is stage one.
Retracted and shriveled pistils is second sign, Stage ready for harvest.
I read somewhere.
I start hanging early test, taste, and prepare for harvest-hanging routines.
I ask questions, read more, and experiment.
Never too much, just takes longer to get straight.
Cant answer for significance.
Learning and practicing harvest/wash/hang routines.
Then comes storage and what to do to improve smoke.
Kief mining next.

Love your drying rack. It looks like a torture chamber for bad plants.

That is what I use the clone/seedling tent.
Time out zone for decontamination.

How goes your outdoor/indoor habitat?
The NLs?

I have some seedlings starting from the Fall22 seed crop.
We Figure to visit “POULSBO” next month. Shall I bring you a couple of seedlings and a couple of cuttings from the Hindu Kush.?
HKs clone easily, for me.

Treating Your Car Like a $150 Microwave

You know that thick manual gathering dust in your glove box? It’s not just for show. Pyle points out, “People will buy a $150 microwave and read the manual on how to use it, but not for a car costing over $60K. The manufacturer provides what should be done to get the best longevity.”

My best answer would be looking for amber heads on the trichomes

Far right, amber like beer.
Not amber like orange darkened pistils.
My best guess.

I see the color. Ill see it on a post though, like 3-4% amber and I’m thinking “I’d harvest now” I’m more for the cerebral buzz. Someone will chime in with “you still got 3 weeks”. I thought once the amber came in on the bracts themselves the move pretty quick?

I have hung and dried some of the Afghan Auto (2oz, RH 60-66%).
More hanging and some still growing.
Harvesting in stages so I can clock the differences.
Loved their grow cycle, for indoor winter.
Can’t flip the tents or they will freeze.
So the newest seedlings are getting 18/6, also.
HKs have issues and are taking space without paying rent (Photos).
Definitely learned I need Autos in my growing cycles.
Summer is too short and winter is too cold.
