Just watered and fed 1gal water with 1tsp of calmag and 1tsp of FF nutes (chaching on auto and open sesame on photo). Both went in at 6.4-6.5 ph and 1400-1500ppm.
As stated in the title, I just realized my runoff is super high! Photo (in veg) read 7600 and the auto (40 days into flower) read 5600. I guess this would explain the yellowing leaves I am seeing. They have been getting watered/fed about every 3-4 days whenever the soil drys out about an inch down. CalMag was new this feeding as I noticed some yellowing leaves and some canoeing on the photo in veg.
What do I do now?? Wait 3-4 days and flush with only water until runoff comes down?

What is the RH = relative humidity in your growspace? 45-60%
I agree with caligirl but i also think u have a salt build up thats why ur getting a high ppm run off you may have to flush ur medium to bring down ur ppm but check ur soil ph first before u do a flush
Get u a bucket of 5 gallons of tap water add calmag to it til u get 200 to 300ppm then pH that water to 6 3 and water the plant super slow like take ur time so every bit of soil gets wet water like half gallon to a gallon slow and leave it set 5 to 10 mins then water again leave it set for a bit. When u see the water start to drip from bottom of plant stop watering and let like a cup or so drip into tray then use a shallow bowl and collect some of the drips in the bowl to check the pH and ppms of the water from the soil. This will tell u if the plant is eating or what’s going on in roots. Use nothing but calmag in the water calmag won’t hurt a thing for u. See how high the soil ppms are really reading and what the soil pH is running at. It almost appears that it is just getting some of the ending colors to it in ways but in ways looks like it needs a bit of help. Good luck
FF nutes are notorious for collecting salts in media. They recommend periodic flushes due to this. A product like “Florakleen” or “Sledgehammer” along with a flush will get the TDS down in a range that won’t hurt plants.
Still struggling with this! Since my Last post the following series of events has occurred;
@ next watering I hit both plants with straight water 6.8ph 680-700ppm in. Ordered sledgehammer. about the same 5.2ph and 5600 - 7500 out.
Approx 4 days later- gave both sledgehammer and calmag.
4 days later repeated sledgehammer and calmag. PH and PPM remained about the same so I top dressed the wet soil with 4 tbsp garden lime each plant
4 days later the while I was away the wife fed 1 gal straight water to the auto and 1 gal water plus 1/2 tsp of nutes to the photo (still in veg) *probably a mistake but its in there now.
Got home from travel tonight (4 days later). The auto has more than 50% orange pistils and just a few amber trichs. most of the leaves coming out of the buds are yellow and dry. The photo has quite a few dry yellow leaves and the upper half is canoed and pointing straight up in the air. I gave both plants a little over a gallon of water 7.5ph and 700ppm. They came out at: Auto- 5.6ph and 5600ppm Photo- 5.4ph and 5400ppm.
The auto is probably only a week or 2 from harvest so I will just keep giving it water when it is dry until the trichs look like they are ready. Should I top dress with more lime?
The photo do I just keep it on straight water until the PPM and PH get corrected? Should I top dress with lime? add calmag? use more sledgehammer? I would like to get it back to good health so that when I harvest the auto I can flip the photo to flower. Will the plant just continue to use nutes from the soil until they are depleted (when my ppm out starts to drop).
Running into a wall here… any advice is appreciated.
After reading your comments and thinking back on it, maybe I misunderstood the flush process altogether. I basically overwatered them slightly almost 2gal per plant using whatever the ratio of sledgehammer per gallon of water is. I assumed the ingredients in sledgehammer was the “flush”…
They are in 5 gal fabric pots, are you saying I should run 5-8 gal of water and sledgehammer solution through each pot? That actually makes a lot of sense now but definitely not what I did.
What is the PPMs of normal water you are using.? I would flush with sledgehammer and check my run off PPMs then keep rinsing each plant immediately with distilled water until you reach desired PPMs. Then feed them about 3-1-1 of the trio.
I would suggest flushing with proper sledgehammer/water solution, ph’ed towards the high side of ideal, until your numbers are in range. Could take as much as stated above or more.
Everything sounded good until this. You reach desired ppm then re-nute? My desired ppm is usually where the soil needs to be so I don’t add anything else until next feed.
That’s all it does. It reduces time and effort. I took each out of tent to kitchen sink. Was very time consuming even with sledgehammer, but I did soak, sit, soak….
On one hand I feel like an idiot for not catching the literal meaning of FLUSHING the plants. Since I had just watered them before I post, I dropped what I was doing and just gave them a real flush;
5gal water/Sledgehammer in the photo/veg plant- came out 1000ppm and 6.4ph
4gal water/sledgehammer through the auto/flower plant- came out 900ppm and 6.2ph
Talk about instant gratification! I will let them dry out for a few days and hopefully things go back to normal. Thank you all for the quick replies!
