Hi, i am currently growing amnesia haze auto flowers in a 2x2 tent with a 90w led light, using 3 gallon fiber pots with ocean forest soil. My plants have started yellowing on some leaves and im looking for guidance and help on what might be causing this.
I water til run off every 2-3 days and water with a ph of 6-6.5. Ive only used nutes twice so far one time per week. Started with 3ml of big bloom and grow big. Ive also started low stress training (hence why its bent a lil)
Im new to growing and this is my first time. Ive been doing tons of reading on the forums and found out i should be testing ph of runoff as well as ppm. So ive ordered a ppm meter and will test runoff ph during next feeding but hoped maybe someone out there has some ideas in the meantime. Thanks for any help and i will definitely update soon!

Little early to be watering to runoff in my opinion, 2-3 days is not letting the medium dry out enough.
Ocean forest is a hot soil, you shouldn’t need to feed until the plant is much larger.
Okay sweet, when would i start watering til runoff? Im in the beginning of week 5. How many days should i wait til watering. Ive been doing it by sticking my finger a knucle down and seeing if its dry. But whats dry, like no moisture at all or damp? Thanks for all the info! I really appreciate it!

Me personally I would stand back and wait 7 days without watering and see how they respond. Then moisten the soil back up.
Oh dang okay, i will definitely do that and let ye know how it goes. Should i do a flush before hand? Or just let it be?

I don’t think a flush is in order, just think she needs some air in her roots.
In soil like ffof wouldn’t I wouldn’t start watering to runoff and testing ppm until about this size. If runoff ppm is around the 1000-1400 mark you can start feeding in.

Personally I start feed the runoff as soon as the seed pops out of the dirt in the Solo cup. I grow in Happy Frog soil also in a 3 gallon pot.
Feeding one gallon of water in a 3 gallon pot gives you 15% runoff. I’ve never had an issue with any plant feeding to run off from the very beginning.
I personally start my runoff so early because it gives me availability to start feeding in three quarters of the time faster than simply watering charged soil. I like to be in control of what they eat and when they eat it sooner than later.
Just by all the early runoff numbers by the time it’s time to start feeding I already know how much my girl eats every time I run her off. For me it’s all about being on the same page as the plant. And the only way to do that is by understanding the runoff numbers.
I know many think this is insane and shouldn’t be done that way but it works for me always have happy and healthy plants.
I think your problem is that you fed your plant truly not knowing what to feed it because you don’t have runoff numbers. Once you get your meter and start running off it will make it so much more easier on you to understand.
I don’t use feeding schedules or manufacturer suggestions. The runoff EC tells me how to prepare the next meal for them. For someone new understanding the numbers can be challenging at first but you’ll get used to it.
They took me forever to understand. The best tip I can give you is document every feed it is a Bible for future grows.
Last thing, when feeding to run off pick up your plant feel the weight. Remember that weight. Don’t feed it again until it feels like you’re holding a loaf of bread. In a 3 gallon pot saturated with a gallon of water you should achieve the loaf of bread weight within three to four days. Allowing that day of dry is very important for oxygens in your root system.

This is the light im currently running. Im confused because its says 1000w but then again it says it uses 90watts of power. What number do i go by? Thanks for all the help!

It’s only 90 watts. It will “grow” a cannabis plant but it will not be at its full potential.
For cannabis we like to use Samsung lm301B or H and they even have a new H evo diodes.
These are high quality lights. You want around 40watts of power per square foot of tent space.

Thank you all for all the info! Ill take all i can get! I looked at the samsung light you mentioned and thats a little out of my price range. In your opinion would this light work? 2x2 tent with 2 plants. It says 200w.

These are currently on sale and for a 2x2 one will work but 2 would work better.
spider farms are a known quantity.
What is your budget?

I actually went up a little and got the spider farmer 2000pro. Similar to the one you sent but series up.

I was going to suggest that but then I reread your post indicating a 2x2 space and budget constraints
Make sure the 2000 dimensions fit your space
Great choice

Wunnerful info.
So, critique if you will: 28 x 53 x 84 Spider Farmer,
Vivosun VS1000 Samsung LM301 diodes, PAR 1558
Should I stop puffing my chest out? LOL

For a 2x4 size tent I would recommend something around 300 watts of power.
Something like the hlg 350r would be a great light for that tent.
The VS1000 will work but the light intensity will drop off very quickly.
Maybe 20 inches away over one small plant.

I actually have a picture of that light in a 2x4. This was a guy I was helping last year.
As you can see the plant needed more light and stretched a ton. But he made it to harvest and he was happy so that’s all that matters.

Then I misinterpreted everything I’ve read about LED lights. But my babies were telling me that. They’re harder to understand than cats. I turned it up from 25 to 50% on the seedlings four days ago, and thought I had already seen them smile. OK.
With that said, and I have two outsiders in the tent which were outperforming the auto’s, it looks like one is within a handful of days of telling me its sex. The strongest one of course, but I’ll whack it in a second if need be
I’m only left with 3 GG4 autos and two unknown outsiders used to set up, I’ve burned 5 weeks. I can accept that their growth is stunted.
Would the consensus be to see them through, or cut my losses and restart?
And if the VS1000 isn’t 1000watts, help me understand what is it?
Being able to ask questions is a blessing. Kudos.
