Just finished my first grow with the help of the guy’s on here. Now starting #2 grow so welcome and you found the right place for learning.
thats awesome oldstoner!!
Hey @Herbalist not trying to tell you what to do but your little girl is stretching for more light, could maybe lower light a little
Yep, actually I have already remedied that. I noticed some leaning, and every time I rotated the seed pot, it leaned back the other way. Being experienced with regular houseplants, I knew what the problem was, and stacked some books under the pot to raise it closer to the lightbulb. Since doing so, it has straightened up and is no longer leaning. However, I will keep an eye on it. It could be the light is not quite powerful enough, and I may need to add more lamps. I can’t put it much closer to the bulb without damaging the tender leaves.
@garrigan62, @Nug-bug, anyone else who can answer this: hubby actually grew pot (successfully) back in the days of his unlawful youth (long before I knew him). He has told me that if I add more soil to cover a good portion of the stem, then the little hairs on that stem will form new roots, like a tomato plant will do. Has anyone else tried this and been successful? I don’t disbelieve Hubby at all, I just want to hear from others. Also, my other quandary is that I have no more room in this starter pot to top off the soil. I would have to go ahead and put it into the final 3 gallon pot. I doubt that would really cause any harm, it’s just rather inconvenient at the moment. As long as the pot is small like this, I can keep it conveniently out in the open — and where there is more natural light to supplement the artificial. It’s so tiny, it doesn’t even have a second set of leaves coming out yet. Obviously, a lot of root development is happening, which is a good thing.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Yes cover up a portion and it will grow and start new healthy roots higher above, which in turns gives her a stronger root system, your hubby is right about that. I hope this helps
It does, thank you @Majiktoker. I guess I’m going to be setting up a 3 gallon pot today.
My pleasure, if you have any other questions myself or others will be happy to help
Happy growings
Yes that is correct. it will grow new roots.

Looking good there! I’m laughing about all of us growing in our vacated kids rooms. Lmao! I’m doing the same!
Hey what’s the big deal… we just adopted new kids right …the sad part is they’re still just as fussy… still costs just as much money and pretty much still just as much a pain in the butt sometimes… LOL😆
