Super Excited Newbie Here

Thank you @Countryboyjvd1971 @Niala !

They look healthy , but the very first pick if you notice on the right hand side that leaf looks like it’s twisting that would tell me that you might be over-watering just a little bit , but if you continue to do it it’s going to lead to PH issues and maybe more issues down the road…:relaxed:

Ive got a question
What size pot and type of soil??

I think it’s five, but I could be wrong. It might be three. The starter soil is an organic potting soil for flowering houseplants. The additional soil (they are mixed together, the second type used to fill in excess space in the larger pot) is a generic all purpose potting soil I bought at the local small grocery store here in town.

I water very sparingly, actually. I moved up to one cup once every several days-- when the soil feels dry when I stick my fingers in. Hmmm… I wonder if the humidifier is causing the water-log? We turn it off during the four hours the lights are off. I did start feeding a couple of weeks ago-- the food is a very concentrated liquid type, one DROP per cup of water. I fed that in two doses, over a two week period, but I haven’t fed anymore since. Maybe I will give another drop at the start of next month. It’s called Superthrive. My outdoor herb garden seems to like it.

I stepped into the grow room when I got home from work and I am definitely growing a pot plant! The smell hit me as soon as I opened the door, no need to lean in close. This is farther than I’ve ever got in my attempt at growing 20 years ago.

@Herbalist I have several aloe plants also for their medicinal value. One of them was looking pitiful. I repoted it with some Fox farm ocean forest soil.

I don’t want to take away from this topic so I can start a new one if your interested it talking about aloe?

@bob31, we have a gardening board. You can talk about growing aloe there, dont start a topic in the forum about it. The gardening board is for talking about other plants and sharing other plants besides cannabis plants

Your welcome

Okay, I have a question about LST. @garrigan62, @Majiktoker, @Masshole, @MacGyverStoner. When you tie down your branches to expose the new growth underneath the big leaves/closer to the main stem, do you leave the ties on for the whole grow, or do you take them off later and let the plant recover? If you take them off, how long do you leave them on, and how long before you put them back on again? Also, would it work as well to frequently handle the plant, gently bending and moving branches to reveal the new growth?

Thanks

And another thing: my little plant is 34 days old today! I have never had a cannabis plant live this long; I’m thrilled. But I’m seeing a bit of canoeing of the leaves. I understand this is usually caused by too much water? I don’t water that much though-- I never have runoff. However, I do have a humidifier, and I’m wondering if the humidity could be causing my plant to feel over-watered. I try to run the fan and leave the door open for a bit of ventilation (the humidifier is on its lowest setting), but the hubby disagrees. He thinks maybe the light intensity is too great. I will get a picture later. I have to go do some stuff for a few hours, then I’ll be back and take a picture. Thanks for all your help! @Majiktoker, @garrigan62, @MacGyverStoner

Leave them entire grow, maybe every other week is how often you can tie down for most optimal results.
As for part 2 for a good answer a picture would help @Herbalist if light intensity was to much leaves will fold up and burn

I was constantly making adjustments with the goal of keeping the top of the canopy level. If one cola started getting ahead of the rest I served up some bondage. I loosened or bent others when it made sense until around mid flower when I removed nearly all of the tie downs because the plant was holding its shape. I probably made more work of it than I needed to but I had fun doing it so I care.

First thing I recommend, check your ph thats likley whats going on @Herbalist

First, if the therapy light is the one on a short stand in the front of the last picture and if it have UV and/or IR, it’s way too close from your plant (your husb may be right :innocent:), same thing for your unknown double head led watt.LED light at your wattage should not be closer then 1 foot, 2 foot for UV/IR LED who’s possess them.

Second, I notice that you don’t measure PH and reassure me that you have some kind of runoff (holes in the bottom of your pot), it’s a must for cannabis plant to have some kind of roots aeration in soil potting. Most of the problem in cannabis growing come from PH issue.

Third, some nutrients is needed, otherwise you risk nutrients deficiencies.

Fourth, humidity is too high for a a cannabis plant in vegetative stage, it should be around 40% and 60% max.

Hoping that’s helping you @Herbalist :innocent::v:
