Sun or shade for my autos

My autoflower seedlings have emerged, they are in grow bags outdoors. Can they go int
o direct sunlight?

I’d wait until they get a couple nodes of sun leaves before full sun. Depends on the intensity you’re getting at your location.
A week of indirect sunlight and then increase to 4 fours for another week. If that hardens them up go direct sunlight.

Agree… you could harden them off very slowly… at seedling age, I wold only leave them in the sun for about 10 minutes a day… gradually increasing each day. Be diligent and keep an eye on them and pull them if they start to wilt even the slightest bit.

Morning or evening sun is more mellow since it’s lower in the sky. The mid day sun should be avoided the first first few days. I have found a week is usually enough to harden them off for the sun. I try to double the exposure every day.

If you are at work all day just stick em in the morning sun a week. Then you should be good to go. But where they are shaded from the mid day sun. Even if the burn a little the new growth will be just fine.

A good spot is on the NE side of a structure or house. Morning sun only. Or against an east fence line near a tree for partial shade. Same idea the fence.

I have found the morning sun (temps) more mellow than the evening sun for outdoor sun hardening.

That’s actually what I have been doing…a little morning sun, then filtered through the trees seems to be working fine…this is my first grow, and so far so good…thanks for the help.

@StonedCold13 , If they seem stalled out, trim off the floral clusters at the tops. It will remove the flower hormones from the plants faster than they can themselves. I have done that so many times. Ha

I moved mine outside in April :grimacing: They are definitely flowering, I’m just going to let them do their thing.
