4x4 if you have 4x8 to fill. You can always dim a rail to 0 or unplug it when you don’t have many plants going. Thats one or the things I love about these lights. I have much more control over my lighting. If you think that’s a little much you can just get the 2x4. You’ll probably find out like I did that you don’t want the Amazon light in your tent after you see the results from a high intensity light like I’m using @poundcake

For 4 plants I would go with a 4’x4’ grow. If you want to stay small you could get away with a 2’x4’ , but you’d have to flip them to 12/12 in about a month.
I try and stay within the legal confines of my state laws, so I grow a few plants in a scrog to get max yields.
