You guys have been a big help today I noticed that the sugar leafs on my blue cheese have dead spots on them I was going to remove them but I didn’t want to cause issues with the buds themselves attached is pictures for reference thanks for y’all’s help you guys have really helped a first time grower out these past several months. I’m in week 5 of flower by the way. I grew them in a potting mix of fox farm happy frog mixed with roots organic and I have done my second top dressing of Gaia green bloom yesterday. I also about 5 days ago did a feeding of organic big bud advanced nutes. The darker leafed plant that looks perfectly fine is my rainbow glue I posted those pics for reference on how far into flower I am.
Idk if it rubs off my lights have shut off for the night now but my ph is in normal range 6.8 and my ppms last read was at 1500 the nutes I used is Gaia green bloom. That leaf is one of the ones I’m worried about because it’s so close to the buds I was going to just trim the dead part off.
Could be an overwatering situation with how it’s curling. I’ve not grown in dirt so can’t say for sure if there is a lockout or anything. Seems the ppm should be fine and the pH is good for soil. Is the discoloration happening top down or bottom up, or is it everywhere?
The reason I mentioned the powder is it could possibly be fungus
It’s on the lower leafs mainly and then as you see in the pics it’s on a very small percentage of the top leafs. And I did just go in there and wipe and it came off but I’m also not sure if it’s from my Gaia green bloom when I top dressed yesterday some of it spilled on the leafs I’ve got 4 weeks to go still so I didn’t know if I should just cut the infected parts off or what to do
Damaged or dead leaves won’t recover regardless of what you do so you could prune off those leaves. However, I’d wait for someone versed in soil to chime in on what’s going on.
Yeah hopefully someone chimes in that deals with soil lol. All I know is the only way I see being able to trim is to cut the tips off that are affected because it’s a sugar leaf I can’t get all the way down in there to cut at the stem.
A lot of the stuff I’m seeing isn’t really on the sugar leaves yet. Like where I circled, that is a fan leaf. Anything with s stem going into the bud is a fan leaf, anything tight in and starts from the bud is the sugar leaf. Other than the deficiency or whatever is going on the bud spacing and buds themselves are looking great. Looks like they will be some nice forearm colas.
I went ahead and trimmed them bad leafs off they were half dead so it’s just wasting energy on them. Plus I didn’t want that dead getting to close to the buds
You only need to trim bad leaves if it is WPM. Then you ned to treat it as such…
If it’s something else., and the leaf is completely dead, I would remove it, otherwise, it is still doing it’s ‘job’ of photosynthesizing…
The ones I removed were pretty much all dead they had maybe a small portion that was still green but I won’t trim anymore off.
