So I throw my seeds into filtered water and cover with something to block out the light.

I started 3 seeds at the same time two popped out a taproot within 48 hours and I threw them in soil and they have sprouted without issue. Bruce Banner Auto and gold leaf photo. This third seed is Bruce Banner auto as well. I can see the taproot but it is kinda spiraled like a snails shell.
Has anyone experienced something like this? If so did you proceed or toss the seed? If you proceeded what were your results?
In my last run I had weirdness with ILGM Zkittlez auto seeds. 4/6 has no issues, 2 acted weird and ended up under performing.
I typically go ahead and drop those as well. Out of perhaps… 20ish that dont fully come out, maybe half never come up. I can say however since putting seeds down taproot up, my rates have gon up across the board (short roots included).
Another thing is letting it soak abnothee 10-12 hours before dropping. It may come on out a bit further.
See if the seed will sink @MoFo . I personally use hydrogen peroxide to help crack them, but I just want them to crack fast. If the seed won’t sink from my experience…it won’t crack. I have a 90% germ rate with H2O2. A bunch of us here use it.

GreggT - I have always put my seeds taproot down and helmet up. Which your chart says is wrong. I’ll look into this some more.
OldSkunk - I have read on the H2O2 and I will definitely try next time. This seed has cracked open but I am used to seeing taproots that are close to straight as opposed to this one that is curled up. It’s possible that using H2O2 in the first place could have made this a non-issue
I use peroxide water soaked 13 all from 24-48 hrs 10 were good 3 i sliced with my razor knife, they were ready the next day. I use this for all seed companies doesn’t matter. Also I used to think the sinkers were the one I wanted I let them float now works much more betterer now.
Holy crap, i was today years old when i saw this… im positioning taproot up for now on…i use H202 also but i only soak for 8 hours amd then plant directly into soil. I too had a bad Zskittles batch of photos. Im currently growing the only 1 out of 5 seeds that i was able to sprout. The rest either didnt germ of didnt sprout. @MoFo
@Bunger64@ChittyChittyBangin two more for H202. Nice grows you have going on. I have moved to a colder climate and I need to learn some new tricks. I used to grow inside, but now I grow in the garage. H202 is what I will use going forward. I also want to get my grow off of the garage floor so I will build out something like I have seen others using to be able to raise plants and collect run off underneath, I also started using a seedling mat when the ladies are just getting started. Still learning and adapting. The better bud I grow the happier everyone will be
@MoFo believe it or not when it was a blistering -2 °F down here in the south , i was able to maintain 68° F with a radiator heater ( 110v ) during lights out and could control up to 78°F with lights on. I would prefer to live in a colder climate as far as indoor growing is concerned. As long as temps dont get below 60°F ( below 60 stunts growth and nutrient uptake), youll be golden and have some awesome and colorful grows. ( my insulated rooms are inside an uninsulated metal shop)
That bud looks great! I also use a few drops of peroxide. So add me to the count lol.
But cooler temps always screw me when dropping seeds. Finding a warm but not hot spot is mandatory. Cable boxes, top near rear of fridges, and behind pc’s are all good spots
Im far from a pro but I use the paper towel/sandwich bag method with a warmer set to 78-80°F. The water method scares me because of the chance of drowning them.
@PurpNGold74 it looked as though the taproot thickening up it just did not straighten out. I am hoping for the best. If I have issues, then I will get to try H2O2 sooner than later. Thank you for all your support brother .
H2o2 helps speed up germination by increasing the oxygen available to the seed as well as help break down the shell and destroy any bacteria that may be present
@OldSkunk , hey bro how much hydrogen peroxide do you use, I’ve never heard of that before. Will try next grow, what does hydrogen peroxide do thanks friend
