Stretching in young plants

First time growing from seed. I need advice.
During the third week from seed my young plants had to go through a nor’easter with no lights or heat for 36 hours. The temperature got down
to 40 F for most of that time. Once the power came back on they all stretched
a lot.
So between the third, forth and fifth nodes the young plants grew about 6 inches in each section. Now they are back to normal distances between nodes but are very tall.
I was wondering what I should do if I want them shorter. The stems are pretty thick and strong. Would I be better off leaving them alone? Should I bury them deeper on the next transplant. They are in 3 gallon pots right now. I have Fimmed them twice. They are a variety of strains.
Any good advice would be greatly appreciated.

First off, Welcome to ILGM. We have a lot of talented growers here that can help you.

Your plants got a rough start but sounds like they made it through all right. I would leave them alone mostly. You have already fimmed them twice.

One thing that you could try is to push the light a little closer to the plants to stop the stretching. This does come with risks, especially for the newer grower. The leaves can burn easily when the light source is too close. For this reason I would not move it too much if I were you. It seems the plants have given you good growth despite what happened. Let her grow like she wants. You will find that the cannabis plant is highly resistant to abuse and will still give you good results. You have already seen that. .

I would also suggest that you fill out a “Support Ticket” for your grow. That will assist us in helping you get a correct answer if you have problems.

Hope this helps you. Jerry

Thanks so much Jerry. I will follow your suggestions. Because I am a begginer I am worried about overdoing it. I will add the additional information to my post.

No problem ! Am glad to help you, remember too well the nerves of being a new grower. Relax, these plant will really take a lot and still amaze you at the end.

If you really want to excel on your first grow, keep your pH of the water and food in range and everything will fall into place (well, relatively speaking!). The pH meter and pH Up and pH Down (for keeping pH in range Good luck on your grow! Jerry

Is that how I was supposed to add the grow ticket?

And Thanks again.
