Strawberry kush first grow

I found out what the tears are… I have mites or some type of pest I can see eggs on the bottoms of the leaves. Going to get some neem oil to take care of them. I would get some lady bugs but i don’t think my roommates would appreciate an army of lady bugs in the house. Lol

Put them in the tent ?

No, they are in a closet grow.

@yoshi, finally harvested one of the kush’s. Now we get to hurry up and wait more to dry and cure. The 10gal pots were pretty full with roots so I don’t think I’ll go smaller with future grows. Left some stem to hang with so that will add to weight but wet weight of bud was 396.2 gr. Not sure what dry weight will be, I’ll loose stems for that. The buds are seriously dense and sticky - woohoo!

All in all we’re happy for our first grow. I think the diesel will have more weight as its a larger plant.

Great job @Ntense man I’m happy for you , but just hang them baby’s in a dark cool place with about 35-45. % humidity and a light air blowing for 7-10 days , 20 at the longest , than a brown bag for three days and mason jar them for another 14-21 days burping the jars at least 3-4 times a day until they dry and you gone really love that Kush , it hits hard first drag , smooth , and very tasteful and you high for at least 3 hours . But man I could not be more happy to see your achievements in your grow to harvest .

Thanks @yoshi, I haven’t heard of the brown bag being used between hanging and jars? What is that step suppose to achieve? From what I’ve read I can expect about 25% of the wet weight when dry, that’s a lot of weight evaporating. I’ll take whatever I get and am really pleased with how it turned out. We snipped a few of the bottom dwelling buds that weren’t getting light a week or so ago and sampled last night. Was smooth and had a sweet taste. Really nice high and lasted quite a while. I ordered a 8 tier drying rack to hang the diesel from when she finishes. I’m guessing she has another couple weeks. Keep you posted on that one as well. Enjoy the weekend!

Brown bags will just allow more moisture to evaporate from bud before you jar up :v:

@Ntense & @ Hillcrest the brown bags will absorb the remaining moisture that’s in the very center of thick big fat sticky buds , it’s really not a must do , just what a few other cultivators have tried and it help dry the very middle of your buds . But you can just let hang another 5 days or so if the center of the bud is not completely dry .

Hey @Gizmo,
Looking good, keep us posted, keep the pics and the costant updates. Cant wait to see end product!

Hello, I am currently on day 14 of flower and about to be completely winged off bloom for feedings. Might give them a little more on next feeding as they are turning light green on the new growth. I believe it might be a nitrogen deficiency. They are starting to bud now I think. When I looked at them a minute ago the have a bunch of white hairs in the center of growth so that’s a good sign! I’m having a fungus gnat problem but not sure how to get rid of them but from what I read they feed on fungus hints the name, but they will destroy your root structure on your plant if not treated in time. Here are a couple of pictures i took last night I would like to share. I super cropped one of the shoots because it was growing a little taller than the other ones so I hope I didn’t kill it. Lol

Hey @Gizmo I don’t know what you’re feeding or your PPM but when plants are just a week or two into flowering the new growth tends to be a little lighter green… the girls are lookin" good!

@Gizmo you can duck tape that branch if you don’t want to loose it , it will heal in time before she go full bloom if you in the first 3 weeks !

Can snapped branches really recover?

Yes they can in early or late veg before full bloom .

Okay I’ll give that a try. thanks for the input @yoshi!

Hello,
I have finally moved my plants out of the house and in to a grow box I made. Just running into run problem and tha is keeping the humidity down. I went from an average of rh- 38%, to an rh- 55-62%. At the moment I am trying to figure out how to bring it down a bit. I also taped the branch that I super cropped with duct tape which helped it stand up. I hope she recovers well…

I watered one of my plants today and the runoff had like 20 larva swimming around. I researched fungus gnats and ordered some food grade diatamoceous (not sure if that’s spelled correctly) earth to see if that treats the problem.

That larvae is in every organic soil mix , just put a thin layer of river sand on the very bottom and the top of your soil , let it dry out thoroughly between watering and you shouldn’t have a big problem .
