Strawberry kush first grow

Man that plant is looking really good under that kind light . But have you thought of tying down some of your branches with a few bread wrappers maybe or soft string ? You really want to get as much light thru the plant , but man she looks damn good . If you transition her right into flower without stressing her , you will get 3-5 ounces easy off that one plant , just keep her happy with the right ph and nutrients and she will put on some good wieght , but don’t be afraid to tie down some of your lower branches and get your light penetrating thru the entire plant to the top of your soil , the more light you getters there , the more wieght . But Taleone you have done a great job my friend and she looks damn good . Now I’m not surprised she consumed the whole tent , is how I don’t understand guts be growing 3 , 4 , 5 , 10 plants at one time , when you can grow just one like yours and scrog it and still get twice as much from one plant verses 5-10 plants . But I must say the Kind Led is not a bad investment , what size is your light ?

Yoshi the light is a 450 that I spent about $750 US…I was surprised at the high cost but now don’t question it. I have decided on this first grow that I am going to let the plant have it’s way and to only add nutes…no scrog, tie down or mainline etc. I am using GH Flora according to the manufacturers label. I am actually 2 weeks into 12/12 and will be backing down the nitrogen gradually during the coming weeks. I am going to try to eventually get it to 10/14 but that will only be during the final 2 weeks or so which is still a long time out. This plant has put out some outstanding stink since it’s youngest days and I can only imagine the heaven scent when she goes into full flower. Cannot wait til the trichs are visible and sticky. I will tell you, when you just brush this plant now, you can smell her on you for hours.

This is what I do when I switch to flower the first 2 weeks 12/12 , than week 3 I switch to 11/13 and wait 2 weeks , than 10/14 for the rest of the remaining weeks in flower . Now I can tell you this my friend you will not be disappointed if you used that light schedule because the longer the dark period , the more the plant will produce resin trichomes and it will get super sticky and covered . But from my experience the longer dark period also can help them finish faster also as well , but by week 2 in flower once you stop the nitrogen you should see the stretching and by the end of week 4 she will be done stretching and the preflowers will be starting to get covered in resin . But keep us updated on your progress , I haven’t growed the strawberry but it will be in my next order list of seeds , which will be way later cause I have plenty right now unless I just decide to order and add to my stock pile . You really doing a great job my friend , but plan to scrog your next grow and you will double your yield trust me .

Does that apply with auto’s also or does it matter?

Yes bulldog you can used that same schedule for autos , I did and it work great .

Thanks someone told me you can go 24/24 with them

That is some really useful information about the lighting schedule for flowering @yoshi. Thanks for sharing I will give that a try.

I am currently waiting for my plants to dry out before I transplant. Should be getting the new light fixture hoods in by next week so I will start flowering next week hopefully

Bulldog you can run 24/0 on but you really want to give your plant some darkness for at least 4-6 hours regardless if they are auto’s , but even if you run 24/0 your plant will go in safe mode and rest anyways , but just think for a minute , it’s only one place that’s daylight 24 hours around the clock and it’s only for 61 days and that’s insomnia season in Alaska . But nowhere else on earth I don’t think it’s 24 hours of light , so you want to simulate the same environment for a plant if it growed outside , which there should be some darkness , but normally I only run my lights 24/0 is when I first plant a germ seed until it sprouts and once it sprouts above ground I change it to 18/6 .

Repotting is a good idea. The most simple

However; I like the 1st option. Sort of. If I had a plant that was growing the roots out of the drainage holes. I would get a bag of soil, lay it down and slice it open down the middle and enough to allow you to sit the plant right in the bag. I learned this from a Cali. care giver years ago. She would repot the final time by placing plants in a bag of soil, instead of a larger pot. It works great.

Thanks for the input my friend. I will definitely try that technique if they get root bound of these 10 gal. pots. Can’t wait to start flowering!

I am sure that you won’t need to re-pot if you go to 10 g pots. Hard to believe you out grew 5 gallon pots indoors.

@Gizmo I didn’t read the whole thread so forgive me if my remarks are redundant but on the bag of soil (ffof) it said to put some shattered Pottery or what-have-you in the Bottom by the holes - hope this helps

Probably should put drainage in the bottom I think

It was hard to believe. It took them 13 days and the roots are coming out of the drain holes on both plants. @Paranorman, I used rocks instead of shattered pottery in the bottom of the pots. I’m not sure if that would of made a difference or not. I should have me an Easter transplant tonight! Lol The soil should be dry enough by now. I think the reason why the other plant isn’t draining well is it might of needed more perlite then it had in there. I used a mixture of FF and MG moisture control because I ran out of FF.

Perlite rules man! @Gizmo

Happy Easter transplant!

I got them babies transplanted! That was a pain in the butt to do that from a 5 to a 10 gal pot. I banged the first one up, I hope I didn’t stress it out too much. Lol all is good and I hope they keep up the good progress and don’t freak out on me.

Starting first day of flower today. Wish me luck! Quick question, I noticed some brown dead spots on leaves and was thinking that could of been from the plant being root bound but I’m not sure. If someone has a more accurate guest fire away please.

Thanks!

Also, I’ve been seeing tears in the leaves of them also but it doesn’t look like a pest has been eating on them. Can anyone inform me on what that might be from?

Your fan can do that when they moist if it’s blowing hard enough . But it’s no big issue .

Looking good my brother! Keep us updated!
