So here we are at the beginning again. Took a few months off of growing over the deep of summer. Now that cooler weather is coming through we dropped a couple of seeds on 10/23 in rapid rooters and today got finished cleaning the grow space and setup their buckets. To be 100% honest I’m not sure which plant is which now, a couple of captain morgans and blunts got in the way there. But one is Strawberry Kush and the is Blueberry CBD both from ILGM. These ladies look totally different from each other when grown out so we will see where each is in a few weeks.
Setup
3’x5’x8’ grow closet
12 gal HDX tote with vehicle sound dampening lids (helps with heat and light reflection) actual water approx 6.5 gallons during grow, 7 gal to start each bucket
4watt air pump per bucket
2 10" air stones per bucket
Intake fan is a AC infinity T4 and exhaust is a T6 usually running at 50% and 75% and of course a carbon filter too.
Multiple fans will be used for air movement but main air movement is from a 18" wall mount fan.
Lights
MARS TSL-2000 is the main light
During flower I’ll add 110watts of red and uv light in addition to the MARS light.
I’ll be using a lite blend of GHE nutes and Hydroguard in the grow. I tend to not flush/change water until the end of a grow.
Gave them their first feeding this morning. Used 10ml of Armor Si to bring the ph back up after feeding, still a little low but we give them a few minutes to adjust. Going to have to get the strawberry kush to stretch out a bit so I get get her collar on.
Well it looks like strawberry has a problem. We are going to give her the next couple of days to get growing or get out, but I’ve dropped a replacement as she just isn’t doing much on top or below.
Well strawberry kush took a turn for the worse yesterday. Didn’t bother with a picture. I think I damaged her a bit fitting the red collar on. She wilted and had some weird very light green growth that were not forming into normal looking leaves. Maybe she would have come back, but instead a new girl will take her place in a few days.
Just a few days later and Strawberry is growing fast. She looking a little yellow, but that is probably from the speed of growth. She will get a little food in a couple of days.
Blueberry CBD is coming along really nice. Normally I would top and prune at this point, but going to give her another week or so to get a few more nice clones of her.
Gave Strawberry a lite feeding today, she is looking a little yellow. Blueberry will get a topping and pruning of lower growth right at lights out today. Thinking two weeks at most till flip to flowering, trying to give that strawberry time to catch up.
Topped her, left nodes 3-5 as this seemed to work well the last time I grew this one, rather than a full pruning. From this plant I dont want huge buds, just nice sized ones. On strawberry we will make big buds as that will mostly be smoked.
Not really ready for the clones yet, but I had to make space for a couple.
Blueberry is looking really good, getting nice and smelly, and responded really well to LST. The last week I’ve been tucking the nodes under fan leaves which helped grow her a little wider.
The clones, one took fine, the other is looking a little weak. I tried running the water a little lower than normal to get rooting faster, just be patient.
So I tossed a little strawberry branch in the side just to see if it does better, if so we switch.
Blueberry is a monster, just under 2 foot tall and nice thick. I’ll be doing a ton of pruning as we switch to flower it looks like and plenty of side branches to clone from on this one.
Wow time flies when you jump out of town to see some friends then get lost in a bit of fun. So these gals went 2 weeks with zero looking after during transition to flowering.
Blueberry CBD wouldn’t know it split at all. I had to leave about 2 days after it happened, but the honey and zip ties did the job. I’m thinking just a bit after I left she tipped over, so now I have corrected her pot and we see in the next day how she responds.
