Strange Looking White Widow Lady. Help?

I want to see this in an educational animated video about growing pot. Make this happen NOW!!:joy::rofl:

Thank you to all. To clarify, it was only one plant. Photos 1 and 2 were different perspectives of the same plant. It remains a mystery to me. I consider it a quirk to live with. She is still growing in height, but is a dwarf - I should say a little plant. I do hope, as y’all suggested that she will simply bloom like the little freak she is. Again thank you for your input.

crudd

That’s a CRUDDy thing to say lmao :laughing::joy::smiley:

Well she is. I hope she’s a superfreak. Hey, thanks again for your input.

Hey boys and girls, another dilemma stemming from (yes, pun intended) tohe same strange-growing White Widow. One pic shows the problem - area lower mid-stalk browning; the other shows the plant top. Experienced input and advice

please.

Looks like maybe a bug got in?

Let me grab my outdoor growmies for some thoughts here. @Lacewing @MeEasy @JaneQP @oldmarine @Caligurl

no signs of critters

It looks like stem rot to me… it could be botrytis. Some of the other fungal infections will show in the leaves and your leaves look ok, but botrytis can affect buds, leaves, and stems.

@crudd7447 can you post a couple more pics of the same area from different angles and closeness?

Thanks for the tag Ms Gray  @crudd7447 first glance looks to me like damage from those boring worms they’re larva of a moth that eats the insides of the stems. I’m not a pro with insects so this is a guess from looking at one picture. But I’ve lost a few plants to them over the years

Any kind of rot can be caused by insects boring into the plant (buds and stem). Is there an entry point that you can see (a small hole?).

No help here. Only critters I have are grasshoppers. Thx for the tag @Graysin

Thanks to all. Thanks to Caligurl for a new vocabulary word. To answer questions–I cannot find signs of a bored entry into the stalk or any insect evidence, even using a loupe. I am attaching two more pics: One of the affected area, the other of the entire plant (you can see that the top and bottom portions of the plant look fine). Any input is welcome. Bottom line question of mine

: should I remove the affected parts of the plant and maybe treat it with neem oil? Or should I remove the entire plant from my patch. All other plants appear to be healthy and prospering.

@crudd7447 have you considered any preventative measures to stop the other plants from being eaten if that’s what has happened? You could spread this on the soil under the plant.

I honestly don’t think it’s bugs, I would say fungal, IMHO. I would spray down first with h202 but I would also use one of my lifelines and phone a frien… I’m going to tag a few here @kaptain3d, @Arrow and @repins12

To me, it also looks like bud rot… :man_shrugging:
And, for me, it looks as if that stalk has been tied in the past, there’s seems to be a ā€œchokeā€ point where the wire (?) seems to have digged in the stem… that might have been the entry point for the ā€œinfectionā€.
I would remove all the affected growth and try to appy some aloes on the stem to ā€œcloseā€ and disinfect any potential entry points…

And that looks like a revegged monstercropped clone… When I do monstercrops, I remove the ā€œold flowersā€ when the clone is established to help prevent spots with high humidity and potential bud rot…

First off noob here but after cleaning and disinfecting would something like the paint they use on young trees help out? Not my post but kinda curious if it would help after it’s doctored up???

Just for learning purposes! Something like this

If it’s deemed food safe, it could help…
But don’t forget, whatever you put on it, will end up in the final product too… so make sure it’s safe for human consumption first!

You use it to paint the stalk it never touches the flowers @kaptain3d it’s used to protect young fruit trees from sunburn and gives them a chance to develop a canopy.

Just curious is all, look up Iv organics on YouTube they can explain it better and know the product. I was just thinking if it helps trees maybe it can help that tree once disinfected to prevent any more infection?

I understand that. But whatever you put anywhere on your plant or even in the soil will end up , in general, being absorbed in part by the plant. And whatever goes in, also ends up going to the flowers!

And I agree with your thinking, that would be another great tool to help all the growers…
