I started a couple runs back, buffering and giving a starter charge of Jacks at a lower ppm to kick start them. Soak Promix in cal mag and Jacks for two hours, then drain buckets with plenty of holes in bottom, until it stops . Fill pots and let dry 3 days, plant! I prep mine a day before I put seeds in water, one day in water and one in paper towels, next day plant!

@spankyjr1 Dan has you covered Bud. I agree 100%. I’ll dampen the soil with half strength, I use Advanced Nutrients and calmag a day or so ahead of planting, rotate with water. That’s a bummer it so hard to find. From the local stores. It’s one of the most popular around me.
@Growdoc I have used the BX as well, good stuff. As you said, very good idea to add perlite.
Coco is an awesome media, but in my experience and automated system is almost a must.
This is my next buy.

Love my autopots! And ProMix, either HP or BX, depends what they have in stock. I don’t add any additional perlite, but just mix it up with 1/4 strength (1ml/liter) Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect, a slash of CalMag, and some Voodoo Juice. Not so much for seeds sprouting, but transplanting seedlings or rooted clones. Works like a hot damn!

Edit…also have air pump and air domes for the autopot, incredible growth rate, but raised the humidity a couple of points.

I thought about autopots a few years ago when they came out I see others having issues with clogged lines, floats, socks, and keeping PH in check, flooding, it sounds like to much work until you get everything dialed in. I don’t really want to give up the room for the reservoir either, don’t get me wrong they grow some awesome buds.
Your profile shows you don’t use anything automated is this still the case?

I get new grow-related items for Christmas every year, I have everything else I need or I just go buy it when I need it, so one year the autopots, next year the airdomes and air pump! Got my Levo C for extractions this last Christmas!

Grateful Ice Cake Seams light sensitive she looks good for about 14 hrs then starts drooping bad, She’s just going to have to tough it out. the rest start drooping after 16hrs not as bad though

I lowered some limbs so I can flip anytime
I cropped and thinned out each one differently

That’s a big defoliation… I never take that much from them for flowering but maybe I should because my buttons always start out real small like dimes when I’m after half dollars! Half dollars with alot of hedgehog bristles and I never get them like that. Maybe I leave too much growth on the plant that consumed the energy for them? I should try it like yours and see the difference.
Do you think that extra stuff you add in does any good with Jacks? I mean it’s a synthetic nutrient that is formulated to absorb into the roots without the need for anything else living in the soil? I do use Fulvic acid every other feed in combination with Silica. I alternate them with Jacks. But, 8 quit using black strap molasses and recharge or TPS Billions. No need for the stuff with Jacks. I did read that molasses does add extra potassium and phosphorus but that’s what MPK does … I’m one for adding all kinds of unnecessary ingredients into my feed and I am learning to restraint myself…

If it needs more leaves she will grow more, may take a little longer to grow I’m not in any hurry though

It’s going to get wet around here so I keep it cleaned up to avoid and PM and bud rot

I cut off all sucker branches and always at least the bottom branches don’t want much larf
I think the extra stuff I add does keep the soil happy making it easier to upload nutrients, I’ve grown with and without and prefer to add, my plants look happier with less deficiencies in flower by adding
