Spanky's Twin Turbo

What brand did you end up using after the switch?

Someone told me can’t remember who FF got to big to fast and started outsourcing and quality control went to hell.

After I talk with the nursery owner I’ll decide on switching to something else. I want to buy local don’t want a bunch of soil on my doorstep prying eyes you know?

I just read that somewhere on the forum too.

I hear ya man :eyes:
I’m pretty secluded where im at but would prefer to support one of the local nurseries anyway. Gonna start searching for options and see what i can get local.

I switched over to coast of Maine stonington blend and found the pH was in range. Similar results without having to fight pH health start to finish. Currently in giving coco a try.

I talked with the owner of the nursery he said he would contact FF but said he always has a hard time getting any answers, He was kinda clueless about the soil
He is having a meeting with the suppliers of Royal Gold soils/coco on Monday to see if they have something for my style of growing.
I don’t remember seeing anyone around here using it I would like some feedback before or if I switch to something else.

Have you ever look at Promix Hp? I’ve been using it for many years.
I’ve tried many soils, have had some issues with some. Bugs, inconsistent ph, etc.
Promix has been pretty much spot on for me.

I haven’t tried it yet, I’ve been searching for it locally and can’t find it. I can order online. I Want to buy local if possible. The grow shop near me closed down maybe I’ll look for another one in the area
If I went with it can you confirm you treat like hydro and ph to 5.8-6.2?
Does it need watered/feed daily or every couple days during flowering?
Can you confirm it comes with no nutrients if I remember correctly? which is fine with me

I’ve been using Pro-Mix Hp for ten years now… And yes, you’re right on the PH.
At first, during veg, I water/feed every 3 days. But when in flower, it’s every 2 days on average.

Promix has always been my media of choice since trying it. Yall know I’m running coco this grow, but the amount of watering is overwhelming compared to Promix. I run BX with fungicide and mychos, mainly because the Amish greenhouse near me keeps it in 60 lb bales for $38. I also noticed five gallon buckets of FF nutes up on a shelf in there . I asked the old guy about ph in Promix to see what he said, he looked at me and grinned, normal plants or medicinal? I just smiled, he knew! Promix will always be my favorite all around media, with 40% added perlite, growth isn’t far behind coco.

Be careful at Wally World, that Promix isn’t the same as HP or BX, that’s a potting mix .
