The bigger version of the Source is the Etoh
Ok thanks. Note need to add safety.
Ya they just want crazy money for these. Not that I donât have it but I didnât get it by giving it away. I want to see if I can build it for half or even a fourth of that. There does not seem to be much to a source turbo. Vacuum appears to be 6 hg to get to boil at about 105 degrees.
Ok I thought he bought blue ice. Was gonna say never seen it. Lol. Have a good day all.
Yeah⌠Just ice packs for a cooler. Not even the cubes, but just one of these:
Fill the bowl and freeze the bowl uâll have a solid chunk then lol. And next to nothing on cost
Already have the ice packs and they work great. Easy, and zero cleanup associated.
That is the vacuum port sticking up. Youâll see itâs between the crucible and the inner wall that the crucible sits on. So it sits in an area where the alcohol never gets too. The crucible doesnât seal to that wall tightly allowing the whole chamber to come under vacuum. Works well on a small scale but if youâre planning on running a lot of wash itâs very time consuming.
The lil still i bought runs a gallon at a time and takes bout an hour.
Um what did you buy. Have a pic.
Ok Iâll take a closer look later.
If u plan on doing oils not alcohol look into the levo 2 itâs like 330 for the machine an extra power pod and the pusher rod for pressing the weed at the end to get all the oil out. I e priced it out already on Amazon lol. Does like 2 cups of oil I believe maybe a touch more but basically the same thing
It will be alcohol. Thanks though.
Yeah I want one too but wife says no one day imma have to buy it and just hope she forgives me. Iâll wait til she gets me the levo tho first lol. Do both at the same time lol.
We use the levo 2 and the distiller.
1st i do a quick wash and extract the qwet to use for carts. Then i do a more extended wash to make feco which we use in the levo to infuse oils and butter. Dosing this was is very accurate. The levo2 does a great job of infusing the feco into whatever were using. The distiller helps me get back about 80% of my everclear. And if i pressed the wash id probably get more like 90% back but like i heard someone say the juice aint worth the squeeze. I lose some alcohol but i avoid a lot of the chlorophyll and whatever else is there that i dont want. Its just what works for us. Yall do yall also the distiller was 150 bucks when i gotmine theyre more now but at 20 per 750 ml bottle of everclear id say it has paid for itself.
So after making the qwet. What is your process for using it in carts. @Allinherhead
After making the qwet i distill the alcohol out ( in the still i recover the alcohol until there is enough to half fill a pyrex cup. I then place that on my electric skillet that has about a half inch of oil in it. I turn the heat up and monitor the temperature of the qwet keeping around 190 stiring until the boiling stops this means the alcohol is gone . ) i let this cool and it will become a very thick tarlike substance ( the cleaner the qwet the lighter the tar will be) i then weigh this tar as needed into my small shot glass that i use for making carts and add the liquidizer and terps or the combo liquidizer with terps mix thoroughly and fill carts. Ive not had any complaints other than the occasional cart failure.
I think there are a couple of choices that didnât exist when this topic was current. The one that looks most interesting to me is this:
Another choice is this:
These are both more expensive than the Source Turbo. It looks to me like they will be more durable and have a higher throughput than the Source Turbo. They might actually be more comparable to the Etoh, but cheaper.
The first is looking more appealing to me. When you add the needed other stuff (induction heater and pump) youâre at about double the price of the Source Turbo, though.
I had a bad experience with a Levo Lux. Mine broke sooner than I expected. That doesnât necessarily mean the Source Turbo will suffer from the same problem, but it might. Iâve seen a few reviews to that effect. A more âdistributedâ collection of equipment might actually be cheaper in the long run. The ability to replace a pump, for example, without replacing the whole thing might be useful.
Anyway, Iâm deliberately bumping this to add other choices and see if anyone has thoughts on them.
I have the Torr Kitchen vacuum still. It works great!
