Some curing questions - potency reducing instead of getting better

Got it, I’ll move them to the bags then once they arrive. Don’t know what RH they’re at, I don’t have mini hygrometers yet, but there is an Integra Boost humidity pack in each jar meant to keep RH at 62%… I heard of the fridge idea before also, keeps them at a more stable temperature I imagine.

Oh yeah the bovedas. Duh. You should be golden then once you get the bags.

Another forum member turned me on to Grove Bags. Once your buds are dry you put them in the grove bag and the bag keeps the humidity between 58-62% and there is no need to burp your bag. Something about layered membranes making up bag, allowing bad stuff out, keeping humidity stable.

If you decide to try them I’d suggest ordering straight from Grove Bags. I ordered 20 each 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, 1 oz and 2 oz (80 bags total) and it cost about $120 with tax and shipping. When I tried ordering directly from the web site it wouldn’t take the order so I called. They had me call my state rep who took the order.

Seems like bags go for 2-3 times those prices on Amazon.

You can check the calibration of your hygrometer by wrapping it in a moist paper towel for a few hours. After the few hours is up check the reading if its not reading 98 or 99% humidity you know the calibration is off and by how much, mark it somehow to track so you know the difference of each device.

Cause the humidity pack already put the buds at the ideal humidity range for bagging you mean?

Yeah I had read a topic on here on how they work, seems very impressive. I didn’t get them originally cause shipping to Europe is 80usd! I just found them from a UK site with 15usd shipping so I’m going to give them a shot now

Wouldn’t it be better testing them against a humidity pack, so I could get a reading even if they’re offset over rather than under? (Example +5, which I wouldn’t be able to know with a 99% humidity source)

Thanks again everyone for pitching in

Oh btw, I need to use 10 bags for my current stock, but I ordered 20 to have supplies for the next harvest. Will these stay good till then? Or will humidity ruin them till I come to use them? (like it would have already saturated the membrane or something)

No they will be good. U can reuse several times and you can seal em or zip em.

@Bonjoyle Thanks for the confirmation, especially that they’re reusable also!

Maybe, Im not sure one way is better. However, I have rehydrated a boveda pack and had it not be able to actually moderate the humidity inside a small space. I am sure they do well at the job but not actually as acurate as advertised. Wrapping in a moist papertowel is guaranteed to be 99% humidity.

Thanks for pointing that out, I’ll be sure to do the moist papertowel test also
