Soil PH? Can you lower when alkaline?

Is there anyway to lower soil ph of its possibly alkaline? I have a plant that isn’t progressing and the ph is 7.5-8 in the soil. The plant is I. Flower but seems to halted in ripening. I’m close to harvest and waiting for amber trics but it seems to be not ripening I haven’t noticed any difference in a little over a week. Slowly drinking water, no deficiencies showing on fan leaves except a little tip burns. Been giving 5.5-5.9 ph water and fish shit past 2 waters no nutes.
Is the only way to do it is by reporting in new soil? If that’s the case I’m not going to do that being so close to harvest. (71 days from sprout ass end of week 7 of flower) well the trichomes still mature very slowly or not at all. Should I just chop now and take the L

If youre in soil, just to confirm those numbers, do a slurry test.

How do I do a slurry test?

Exactly what @ChittyChittyBangin said, confirm your problem first before making any adjustments, what soil base do you have? If it’s peat chances are you need a good flush to rid the soil of what’s keeping it that high.
Unsulfered, blackstrap molasses will lower soils pH and it’s good at the end the flower.

:point_up_2: you probably have at least 3 weeks left. Can you post an over plant pic or 2? When the PH is this far out of range a reset flush will bring that back in range :love_you_gesture:

What about just regular unsulfured molasses. I don’t have black strap. I tested the run off and it’s sitting at 7.4ph so not quite alkaline. Guess she’s just not wanting to progress. Or just on her own terms.

I’ve flushed twice and tested run off and it’s sitting at 7.4 ph. I’ll post a pic now

@OGIncognito i have some recharge but being so close to harvest I wasn’t sure if I should even try and give it that. I will give it some molasses next watering hopefully there is a next watering….

Your plants is ripening up, close to finished. Also, if you’re using that green probe meter for pH, I’d chunk it. I know it ain’t easy to spend the cash sometimes, but a reliable pH meter, such as Apera or Blue Lab, will give much more accurate readings.

Beautiful plant , The probe is not a Accurate way to check p h. The overall look of your plant PH is probably in a good range.

More like: infinitely more accurate. Those meters are complete junk. Many of us got one of them (myself included) but they aren’t worth the plastic they’re made from.

Your plant is almost done and really you’re looking to bulk up for a week or two before cutting. Plant looks fine btw. Nice job!

Nice work Grow Bro, another good feeding or 2 should get her to the finish line. You could also feed once and water the next 2 rounds, looks like harvest is around the corner :love_you_gesture:

@Myfriendis410 I haven’t really seen any change though in almost a week and a 1/2. I’m just going to stay on top of the trichomes like flies in shitt! Lol. Thank you.

@OGIncognito
I’ll give that a whirl, I’m using all organic nutes no synthetics and fish shitt. So if I’m unable to flush it properly maybe it won’t taste to bad…. Lol :man_shrugging:

This is what I got from 3 plants I harvested not to long ago that finished before these last two I’m waiting on.
Think they over dried, dried them in a wine cooler at 60f 60 humidity. Humidity was in low 70s first 2 days so cracked the door open a little to try and drop it but in turn upped temp. Snapping at 7 days today. Can’t believe how much the buds shrink! Biggest bud weighted 2g. Hahahaha
First grow lots of room for improvement. Can’t wait for my next run. I got a viparspectra p2000 for $100 bucks.(Brand new) hope that will help with not so airy buds. Going to only run two this time as well, in my 2x2x4 tent. May throw my MarsHydro ts600 in there with the viparspectra as well. What do y’all think……
I need to do some more research and drying. I’m using curing bags with 1 58%rh packet in there with the 31g.

Throw that soil meter away, it’s not doing you any good and isn’t giving you a correct reading.

Thanks yeah that’s what I’m hearing from a lot of other growmies as well. I’ll just stick to testing run off.
