Soil PH? Can you lower when alkaline?

What are you testing with?

No flush needed with organic medium :love_you_gesture:

Apera. The one that does like 4 different things I guess. I told the guy right now I’m just trying to learn ph. Lol got me for $140. It was worth it though. The thing is on point and haven’t had to calibrate it once.

Just an FYI: probe needs to be stored in storage solution or 4.01 PH calibration solution. If you let the glass bulb dry out it will crack and no longer function.

Yeah I was told that if I’m using it weekly the moisture from the clean water I use between dips would be sufficient enough. If I take a break and don’t use it for a month or more is when I should use the storage solution……
Is that not correct?

Apera gs4 or gs5

No need to flush if organic…

I would follow the instructions in the manual, it’s a tool and a pretty expensive investment and if it acts up could cost you even more plus replacing it. Not a risk I would take.

There is no need to flush with organics like mentioned by some great growers, have you tested your water ppm you are using? Seems to me it’s hard water?

Yeah it says that in the manual as well.

I use nestle pure life, reverse osmosis.
I haven’t done any research on hard water or testing for ppm.
I’m on my first grow and I will be researching a lot as now new quaestions and variables like ppm that have come up as I pushed through the first one.

I would fill the cup with storage solution and when you’re done just put the cup back on the unit. I fill mine only when the liquid level gets low. I would not let it dry out at all.

They also indicate that use of distilled or R/O water for storage is a no-no. Has to be storage or 4.01 PH cal solution.

Yeah I’m just following the manuals instructions so I don’t know. :man_shrugging:
