Is it necessary to flush before harvest when growing in soil? Thanks in advance for any help.
Some don’t @Twin …most do flush using at least 2x the pot size. I flushed that way 3x myself. So about 2-3 days between flushes to let them dry out. Always got good smooth smoking weed.
It’s up to you some do some don’t I don’t but there are some on here that swear by it
You could just stop feeding a couple weeks before harvest and let the plant naturally fade.
I do not flush or go water only. I feed right up to harvest. Always smooth tasty smoke.
I stop feeding and only give un phd RO water last 2 weeks
No flush, straight water the last week or so.
Just saw a study on this @Twin. I’m a Bergmans Lab member and I was taught to flush before harvest to get rid of salts and nute build up in the soil. Giving water only for at least a week is the doing same thing essentially. The study showed that there is little to no difference between flushed and not flushed at all. To be honest…I don’t grow in soil anymore. I got tired of fighting bugs so I switched to hydro. I grew in soil for a couple of years and got pretty good at it. It’s way more forgiving to plants than hydro.
Agree with @OldSkunk
Growing in soil is easy if you want a water only method. But the bugs can be a problem. One day your fine the next you have little black things flying all around.
Research coco growing. It’s a step up from soil and can have amazing results
I do not. I water to the end. Dont put in dark. No stem splitting. In living soil now but never flushed before that after an initial try with zero noticeable difference.
