Durban Poison grown outdoor, Southern Calif, week 11 since 1st sign of flowering. Plant looks healthy, yes? But, 2nd pic shows only bumps for trichomes after week 11. No significant smell, no stickyness. Is this normal? Am I rushing it?
What do the trichomes look like on the calyx
That’s sugar leaf
Your pistols also look pretty white and standing straight up
11 weeks ?
Wondering how much of that was pre flower
When did you first Notice button tops ? That’s when you start flowering
Other indica strains I’ve grown had well developed trichomes on the sugar leaves as well by now. In fact, I just harvested one. I know sativa’s take longer, but I thought I’d be seeing more advanceby now.
If this is your first time with this strain it could simply be genetics.
What does that mean, “it could just genetics”? Do I have a problem or is patience in order here?
Its hard to tell with that pic but the bud looks really new/young. Could you get a better pic of the flowers.
What was the first sign of flowering? You saw buds start 11 weeks ago? I think you have some time to go, I think Durban poison should be stacked with trichs
Here’s another pic. While the pistils look young, wouldn’t you expect the trichs to be more developed at this stage?
Not necessarily. It can vary by strain and even plant to plant. One of my blueberry didnt stack on the trichs until just a few days ago while the other one seemed frosty about 2 weeks ago. I would say be patient, I’m sure it will frost up here soon, sometimes trichome development piles on in the last couple weeks.
It looks pretty good to me based on that last picture… Looks right on schedule
Thank you BradsBuds. That’s the feedback I was hoping for.
Encouraging. This sativa sure is different.
I don’t count my flowering till the end of the second week after I see pistil growth. Your buds have several weeks left most likely end of October outdoors.
No problem. Patience is . Keep updating this post so we can see how they turn out please. I want to try Durban poison myself so id love to see how yours turn out. Happy growing!!
Ahh yes, patience. We all know how that goes. We’re like kids in a candy store. I will keep you posted with pics until harvest. Thanks again.
Me too. It’s in line with the next set of photos I grow.
Will grow 1 Durban Poison and 1 Grand Daddy Purple.
I thought my White Widow Autos were lacking trichomes too, but you got it, patience!
Those look huge as is but that doesn’t mean theyre done. Those are going to get bigger and better in the next couple weeks. Nice plants @Flying-High and @scobeadobe .
Thanks.
Next Wed the 29th will be 8 weeks in flowering.
I’m thinking mine may take 10-12 weeks of flowering.
There are still lots of white hairs and the Trichomes just started getting frosty!
I plan to watch closely and harvest selectively as each bud reaches peak ripeness.
