So I’m a new grower, I made the mistake of listening to a lot of different people and what I got was a lot of different recipes and a lot of different mediums. I wasted money on a tent and equipment now knowing any better. So I’ve restarted. I’ve invested in a ac infinity climate hub and setup. I got a 48x24x73 tent. And I got 20 gallons of buffered coco and perlite, oh and jacks 3-2-1, whole foxfarm lineup, and epsom salt, silica, etc. here and there. Got airpots autopot and green gelato, and northern lights auto seeds. Just want a successful harvest advice greatly appreciated
If you’re going with coco, I would recommend using the jacks. There are a lot of growers here using that medium and nutrient line successfully. Find a grower that you have seen good results from and tag them in your journal. Ask them to mentor you.
Always do your own research on what you read and hear.
Get good lights. Its so important to have proper lighting.
Good luck with your grow
Great advice from @GreenJewels. I run auto pots, coco and jacks. Keep it simple Grow Bro and stay with the Jacks 321 only, what’s your water source
If you grow in coconut coir and perlite use a liquid fertilizer every time you water and water so the fertilizer runs out the bottom of the pot. You should get rapid growth and have no problems with root rot due to the drainage and aeration around the roots from the perlite.
Start the seeds off in small pots and transplant them into their final pot when you start to see roots at the bottom of the pot by the drain holes.
Don’t prune auto flowering plants because they don’t have time to recover before flowering.
Give them a bit of light as seedlings and after 2 weeks increase it. When they are a month old you should provide them with really good light (high intensity) and let them grow.
Seedlings need 8 hours of darkness for the first 3-4 weeks then give them 6 hours of darkness per night if you want to increase lighting times. Otherwise leave them with 16 hours of light and 8 hours of dark until you harvest.
Pick a growing style and medium, as well as nutes, Jacks is hard to beat. You won’t need the FF with jacks, just some epsom. Read thru some journals here, pick one or two growers that you understand and like their methods. Tag them and ask for help, I guarantee you will get good solid advice from experienced growers that want you to succeed. You have landed in the best place possible with great folks who are willing to share their knowledge without being arrogant or rude, those kind of folks are shown the door here! You may encounter a bit of sarcasm, but I promise it’ll be in good fun if you do. Welcome and happy growing! The more you preplan now, the smoother the ride will go!
Long shot but is anyone here willing to mentor me?
Hey man thanks for taking the time, my water source is tap currently but I have apera ph meter, vivosun, ac infinity, I always ph it to 5-6
It seems like we’re on the same path honestly I’m getting into autopots I got a 3.9gal one with air dome right now I got a huge tent. Wasted money on bs equipment. Sold it got a full ac infinity set. Tried the living soil water only type with some added kelp and fish shit and all the extras. Didn’t work could only get them to flowering and they’d slowly die off. I’ve flushed them done everything seems autopots coco and jacks is what I want. Got a 400$ bloomplus light as well. I think 1100ppfd at 24 inches?
By the way thanks for the kindness and hospitality. The world needs more people like you
Doesn’t seem like much buts there’s a significant difference on nutrient uptake when the PH is out of range. Coco PH range is 5.8-6.2 Growmie. Do you know the TDS of your tap water, I use tap as well and my numbers are 130 PPMs (TDS) and a PH of 7.1. Your water source plays a big factor in feeding
Oof how do you get your ph that precise? It’ll come out my tap at like 7.3 and the ph down I have I’ll put 1ml in a gallon like it says and sometimes it’ll drop it to like a 3 sometimes it’ll barely drop it getting it within a .6 sounds crazy. Also…TDS? Lol
I use a 5 Mil dropper and add a few drops stir my nutrient mix and test, adjust it down a few drops. Once you get the Ph in range it’s the same routine each time. I mix 2 gallons at a time, my water PH drops from 7.1 to 6.7 after nutrients are mixed and from doing this several hundred times I know it takes approximately 6 mils of PH down to hit my range
