Hey guys. So I saw a few bugs in my weed. I grew outside and I dried in my garage, not ideal conditions. My weed has been curing for 2 weeks now. I was gonna put them in the freezer after 3 weeks. My question is, should I put them in the freezer and for how long 24 or 48 hours? Should I use Ziploc bags or mason jars? I don’t wanna be smoking bugs lol.

I would honestly discard. Without a bud wash, if there are dead bugs, then all of their scat and debris remain in the plant material. Basically you’ll be smoking bug doodoo, freezer or not.

I mean it really depends. If they aren’t totally infested, then it’s kind of a smokers choice. But a lot of bugs, caterpillars in particular, get deep in the buds, some chewing into and burrowing in the stems. They’ll get in a tight spot eating everything that touches their face and continuously deficate in spots.

Clean it up a bit as you smoke it if its good weed, like i said clean it as you go if its mediocre or garbage give it away or throw it away

There is a technique called ‘water curing’. I think I’d do a wash with your dried plant material and mix like 1 cup of peroxide into 5 gallons of water. Try a small sample and see if it works for you. It will kill mold, bugs and loosen insect debris. No need to rinse after.

So I can still wash after it been cured for 2 weeks?
Yes, but not ideal.

I smoked mite infected bud without a wash without any health issues, but I am told I am not a normal human. YMMV

Hey, if they will smoke, i will smoke em! Lol. I grow outdoors also. Had to skip the bud wash on two plants due to toothace. Lots of knats. Clean out what u can, smoke the rest
