Bugs! 🤮 Have I been smoking bugs?

Chopped and hung a plant to dry. Used my loop to check the tricombs. And there’s a bunch of eyes looking back at me little tiny white bugs black bugs with big arched back one with wings… At least a dozen that I could see with my blind eye and crooked loop.
I’m usually done checking my plants by the time I hang them up so I’ve never really used a loop to look at them at this stage. However I’ve never seen bugs.
I bet I’ve been smoking bugs. The more I think about it the more I think that’s probably fairly common… My question is how can I run them off before I cure…

Thank you all

Well if they are not dry you could do a bud wash. Like if its still fresh.i wouldn’t do it to fully dried buds, you can’t use pesticides because once u go into cure its just gunna taste like crap and you’d be smoking pesticide. Always check your beds thoroughly right at harvest from now on. I always give them a quick once over but usually don’t have anything in there. I havnt really run into that issue so im spitballing here. Or you can leave it and smoke em lmaooo

Maybe it’s like in the movie “Medicine Man” with Sean Connery where the active ingredient he was looking for was actually in the bugs that lived in the plant he was studying.

I’m 60 so I’m pretty sure I must have smoked some bugs in my time. I definitely don’t want that with my home grows. If it’s still freshly cut, I might consider a bud wash as someone else said.
I washed my last harvest and didn’t seem to lose many trichomes but had the peace of mind I may have washed off some unlucky fungus gnats who unwittingly landed on my sticky buds.

Some folks eat bugs… we picked out the caterpillars one year and smoked it…definitely not a good thing.

Bug washes are great especially if its outdoor and you don’t really use pest prevention lol

Bud wash should be the standard, Indoor or out. Unless your house is filtered by HEPA filters, it’s gonna have dust and skin cells and all kinds of crap you can’t see. Kinda suck to go for good clean meds only to be smoking filth.

What a great movie

Make sure to use cold water and just dunk branches in dont move around a whole lot leeave soak for a minute or 2 then pull out let drip off do same in plain water 2 times 2 diff buckets and viola put a fan blowing directly on them for about 2 hours or so until the bottom tips of the buds dont feel saturated wet anymore then start the hang dry in a cool dark place. I was every tree i grow not because of bugs or anything but to b safe to make sure. Ur lungs are an important part of the body and mold especially is not good for the body

If your plant is overrun with critters and it freaks you out, you can make kief by dry sifting, and then make hashish out of it…

Here are the stages of the process
Screen out the crap
Select the grades of kief you want
Make essentially a ball of finger hash… but way stronger
Then I wrap in organic cellophane and place in small mason jar for a couple months to cure.
After that, do the boiling water in wine bottle trick with turkey wrap…
Makes AAAA wicked hashish… bubbles when you smoke it. 2 tokes and yer ripped!

Not cold. Cold will knock off trichs. You want cool, room temp water at about 65-70F.

I thought that the water had to be like 30s to low 50s to get the trics cold enough to knock them off. Whoops

Food for thought. Probably a spec for flower but can’t find it just yet!
