What is the earliest a plant will show male or female?

The earliest I have seen is 3 weeks, but doing so early isn’t common. Most plants will show at some point between 5 and 7 weeks.

Several weeks. But check out Farmer Freeman. They offer sex-testing DNA services, for a very reasonable price. ($12 each if you buy 10 tests)

By about week 6 they may preflower and start to show. 8 to 10 weeks should be obvious girl or boy.

Yeah, I find that sacs will start to form as they start to go into the flowering stage. You need to watch close during this stage since cannabis is hermaphroditic, it can turn on your and that can ruin a crop quickly. I’ve never lost a plant to pollination, but have had a plant produce a few seeds right at harvest time when under stress.

I should add to my last post that at the stage when the males typically will start showing sacs, it’s often hard to tell if the others are females. For me there seems to be a period where it’s difficult to tell if they are female and/or some are just starting to get some pistols…even if I’m using feminized seeds, I trust nothing since cannabis can turn on your even up to the harvest.
I am pretty sure if even one of those sacs opens your screwed. Does anyone know how to cover a branch with a plastic bag to get seeds? I know that’s how they do it, but most growers I know use clones. Seeds are much easier for a guy like me.
