Under standard conditions I would say option two. If you were trying to clear your media because of a suspected issue, then I would say option one. Both could be right depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.
Curious to see what others think though

Due to the fact that you had issues, I’d do door number 1 haha! That would give you a clue which way to jump.

@hippy4life definitely number one so you can see what’s going on in your soil. Then let dry out and on your next watering adjust nutes and pH for corrections.

I swear by it. I do like 5 tbsp for a 3 gallon pot. I believe @latewood or maybe it was @garrigan62 suggested about 1 cup for 5 gallon pot. Since it’s probably a little late to mix into soil well, I would go with a little less and just try to gently turn into top inch or two of media evenly.
Ph should start to balance out some within a couple of days and then will respond to ph level of watering. My guess is that once ph gets settled plant will feed better and make it easier to get tds in check as well. I think it was @SilentHippie we helped with similar issue, and he’s been relatively solid since adding the lime.

You guys did help me. When I experienced the issues with my plants, I sprinkled it on top of the soil and then mixed into my soil when I transplanted. It took a couple waterings to stabilize the ph but I haven’t experienced any problems since. Dolomite lime is our friend.

My last grow I was mixing it in directly with my water. I think it works faster that way because it gets distributed in the growing media more directly and evenly.

I agree it should work faster, but it also doesn’t continue to work unless you continue to add. For a short term correction that method is fine. But you can add to soil ahead of time and not have to worry about it at all. Depends on what you’re trying to accomplish is all.
