Senior citizen newbie

A few winters ago I purchased 4 different strains a total of 50 seeds.
Of The 50 i only had 5 that matured and that includes 2 mutants.
This time around I’m looking for better success. I’m growing indoors in tents using a DWC with a drip system. I have a total of 40 seeds [2 strains].
Somebody please help me

Welcome to the forum.

I hope you aren’t planning on growing those all at once. Cannabis needs and incredible amount of lighting to be productive. As a new grower I would start with a plant or 2. Keep in mind that one well-lit plant will outperform 2 poorly lit plants.

You may find this helpful:

I have 2 buckets in each tent with two plants in each bucket

How many plants should I have in each teny

Each tent

How big is the tent?

First …are you growing to distribute or personal smoke? I grow 1 plant twice a year in a 2x4x7 tent and after a grow or 3 I have 6/8 ounces of 3 different strains around all the time. I can’t smoke it all.

Two plants max in a 3x3. One plant can be grown in a 2x2.

It is not terrible that you have 2 plants in each bucket. You will get to decide which one to keep based on growth. Plants can express differently and sometimes seedlings fail.
There are a lot of older folks here ( 60 here) and lots of available help.
I did DWC as my first grow and it was a struggle. pH swings and a problem with base ppm of the water in my house but I did get to experience the huge growth of DWC before my inability to read plants and diagnose a simple hot nute mix to early killed em.

As a new grower DWC would be the last thing I’d recommend.

Two plants together will compete for resources and choke the other out. In doing so it may retard plant size and health. Not really a good idea.

I would rather suggest either coco or something like Autopots. I’ve used them for years along with many others here and they are pretty foolproof.

I have a few suggestions but need to know your goals to see if I can help. In general I would suggest slowing down, go back to basics and grow as simplely as possible with the idea of learning the plants growth patterns and then start getting exotic.

Both together.

I did get seeds, eventually.

Pictured above another M/F combo.
I harvested these seeds Aug 2024.

Welcome to the forum.
Lots to learn, is why I am here, too.

I dont recommend that. 1 plant in the bucket will outperform 2 fighting for resources. Can actually get away with 4 autoflower in that tent grown straight with no training. As a beginner and in hydro I wouldnt recommend auto. I do not know what you have but hope photo. If photo 2 girls vegged well will fill it. If you do have auto please stay around so our hydro folks can help line out issues with you quickly. Auto are unforgiving little beasties.

I know its a pain to fill the answers, but it works.
When seeds cost, multiples get expensive.
When multiples grow, it hurts to cull or separate.
Good growing to you. the long wait is over.

Awesome.
